The king said to him,“ I’ve made you promise to tell the truth many times before. So don’t tell me anything but the truth in the name of the Lord.”

王对他说：“我当嘱咐你几次，你才奉耶和华的名向我说实话呢？”

王对他说：“我要你发誓多少次，你才会奉耶和华的名向我说实话呢？”

王对他说：“我要你发誓多少次，你才会奉耶和华的名向我说实话呢？”

王却说：“我要嘱咐你多少次，你才肯奉耶和华的名对我说实话呢？”

王对他说：“我要嘱咐你多少次，你才奉耶和华的名对我只说真话呢？”

王對他說：「我當囑咐你幾次，你才奉耶和華的名向我說實話呢？」

王對他說：「我要你發誓多少次，你才會奉耶和華的名向我說實話呢？」

王對他說：「我要你發誓多少次，你才會奉耶和華的名向我說實話呢？」

王卻說：「我要囑咐你多少次，你才肯奉耶和華的名對我說實話呢？」

王對他說：“我要囑咐你多少次，你才奉耶和華的名對我只說真話呢？”

王對他說：『我須要誓囑你幾次，你才奉永恆主的名不對我說別的、只說實話呢？』

王曰、我須幾次囑爾、奉耶和華名與我言、惟以誠實乎、

王曰、我豈不屢使爾、奉耶和華命、當以真實告我乎。

王謂之曰、我豈不屢使爾發誓、爾奉主名告我、惟以真實而告乎、

The king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear to tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

But the king said to him,“ How many times shall I make you swear that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

But the king replied sharply,“ How many times must I demand that you speak only the truth to me when you speak for the Lord?”

But the king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear not to tell me anything but the truth in the name of the LORD?”

Then the king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear that you will tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

So the king said to him,“ How many times shall I make you swear that you tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?

But the king said to him,“ How many times must I make you swear not to tell me anything but the truth in the name of Yahweh?”

And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but[ that which is] true in the name of the LORD?

The king said to him,“ How many times must I make you solemnly promise in the name of the LORD to tell me only the truth?”

The king said to him,“ How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”

So pray to the Lord your God. Pray that he’ll tell us where we should go. Pray that he’ll tell us what we should do.”“ I’ve heard you,” Jeremiah the prophet replied.“ I’ll certainly pray to the Lord your God. I’ll do what you have asked me to do. In fact, I’ll tell you everything the Lord says. I won’t keep anything back from you.”Then they said to Jeremiah,“ We’ll do everything the Lord your God sends you to tell us to do. If we don’t, may he be a true and faithful witness against us.It doesn’t matter whether what you say is in our favor or not. We’re asking you to pray to the Lord our God. And we’ll obey him. Things will go well with us. That’s because we will obey the Lord our God.”

Some Jews went around driving out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus to set free those who were controlled by demons. They said,“ In Jesus’ name I command you to come out. He is the Jesus that Paul is preaching about.”

He shouted at the top of his voice,“ Jesus, Son of the Most High God, what do you want with me? Swear to God that you won’t hurt me!”

They sent their followers to him. They sent the Herodians with them.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know that you are a man of honor. You teach the way of God truthfully. You don’t let others tell you what to do or say. You don’t care how important they are.Tell us then, what do you think? Is it right to pay the royal tax to Caesar or not?”

The Israelites became very hungry that day. That’s because Saul had forced the army to make a promise. He had said,“ None of you must eat any food before evening comes. You must not eat until I’ve paid my enemies back for what they did. If you do, may you be under a curse!” So none of the troops ate any food at all.

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I am commanding you in the name of the living God. May he judge you if you don’t tell the truth. Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

At that time Joshua made a promise and called down a curse. He said,“ May the person who tries to rebuild this city of Jericho be under the Lord’ s curse.“ If that person lays its foundations, it will cost the life of his oldest son. If he sets up its gates, it will cost the life of his youngest son.”

The king said to him,“ I’ve made you promise to tell the truth many times before. So don’t tell me anything but the truth in the name of the Lord.”
