So Ahab went home, sullen and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said,“ I will not give you the inheritance of my ancestors.” He lay on his bed sulking and refused to eat.

So Ahab went home. He was angry. He was in a bad mood because of what Naboth from Jezreel had said. He had told Ahab,“ I won’t give you the land my family handed down to me.” So Ahab lay on his bed. He was in a very bad mood. He wouldn’t even eat anything.

And Ahab went into his house vexed and sullen because of what Naboth the Jezreelite had said to him, for he had said,“ I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” And he lay down on his bed and turned away his face and would eat no food.

So Ahab went home angry and sullen because of Naboth’s answer. The king went to bed with his face to the wall and refused to eat!

So Ahab went to his palace resentful and angry because of what Naboth the Jezreelite had told him. He had said,“ I will not give you my ancestors’ inheritance.” He lay down on his bed, turned his face away, and didn’t eat any food.

So Ahab entered his house sullen and furious because of the answer that Naboth the Jezreelite had given to him, since he said,“ I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” And he lay down on his bed and turned his face away, and ate no food.

The king of Israel went to his house sullen and angry, and came to Samaria.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.

but he didn’t respect Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry, and the expression on his face fell.Yahweh said to Cain,“ Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?If you do well, won’t it be lifted up? If you don’t do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it.”Cain said to Abel, his brother,“ Let’s go into the field.” While they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and killed him.

and don’t give place to the devil.

Balaam rose up in the morning, and said to the princes of Balak,“ Go to your land; for Yahweh refuses to permit me to go with you.”The princes of Moab rose up, and they went to Balak, and said,“ Balaam refuses to come with us.”

Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.Don’t be hasty in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.

He said to him,“ Why, son of the king, are you so sad from day to day? Won’t you tell me?” Amnon said to him,“ I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”

For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.

Naboth said to Ahab,“ May Yahweh forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!”

Amnon was so troubled that he became sick because of his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and it seemed hard to Amnon to do anything to her.

Woe to him who gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!You have devised shame to your house, by cutting off many peoples, and have sinned against your soul.For the stone will cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the woodwork will answer it.Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity!

Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.

God said to Jonah,“ Is it right for you to be angry about the vine?” He said,“ I am right to be angry, even to death.”

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was angry.

But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it can’t rest and its waters cast up mire and mud.“ There is no peace”, says my God,“ for the wicked.”
