你兄弟遭難的日子，你不當瞪眼看着；猶大人被滅的日子，你不當因此歡樂；他們遭難的日子，你不當說狂傲的話。我民遭災的日子，你不當進他們的城門；他們遭災的日子，你不當瞪眼看着他們受苦；他們遭災的日子，你不當伸手搶他們的財物；你不當站在岔路口剪除他們中間逃脫的；他們遭難的日子，你不當將他們剩下的人交付仇敵。

大衛對比錄人臨門的兒子利甲和他兄弟巴拿說：「我指着救我性命脫離一切苦難、永生的耶和華起誓：從前有人報告我說，掃羅死了，他自以為報好消息；我就拿住他，將他殺在洗革拉，這就作了他報消息的賞賜。何況惡人將義人殺在他的牀上，我豈不向你們討流他血的罪、從世上除滅你們呢？」於是大衛吩咐少年人將他們殺了，砍斷他們的手腳，掛在希伯崙的池旁，卻將伊施波設的首級葬在希伯崙、押尼珥的墳墓裏。

他們離棄正路，就走差了，隨從比珥之子巴蘭的路。巴蘭就是那貪愛不義之工價的先知，

他們雖知道神判定行這樣事的人是當死的，然而他們不但自己去行，還喜歡別人去行。
