Then two scoundrels came and sat opposite him and brought charges against Naboth before the people, saying,“ Naboth has cursed both God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death.

The two men, the wicked fellows, came in and sat before him. The wicked fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city and stoned him to death with stones.

‘“ Know for sure that I saw the shed blood of Naboth and his sons yesterday,” says the LORD,“ and that I will give you what you deserve right here in this plot of land,” says the LORD.’ So now pick him up and throw him into this plot of land, just as the LORD said.”

Then all the men of his city must stone him to death. In this way you will purge out wickedness from among you, and all Israel will hear about it and be afraid.

From this point on, Pilate tried to release him. But the Jewish leaders shouted out,“ If you release this man, you are no friend of Caesar! Everyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar!”

Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow, so is the one who testifies against his neighbor as a false witness.

If a false witness testifies against another person and accuses him of a crime,then both parties to the controversy must stand before the LORD, that is, before the priests and judges who will be in office in those days.The judges will thoroughly investigate the matter, and if the witness should prove to be false and to have given false testimony against the accused,you must do to him what he had intended to do to the accused. In this way you will purge evil from among you.The rest of the people will hear and become afraid to keep doing such evil among you.You must not show pity; the principle will be a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, and a foot for a foot.

“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who spreads discord among family members.

Do not turn me over to my enemies, for false witnesses who want to destroy me testify against me.

So I again considered all the oppression that continually occurs on earth. This is what I saw: The oppressed were in tears, but no one was comforting them; no one delivers them from the power of their oppressors.

the men of her city must bring the young woman to the door of her father’s house and stone her to death, for she has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by behaving like a prostitute while living in her father’s house. In this way you will purge evil from among you.

A false witness will not go unpunished, and the one who spouts out lies will perish.

Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent this message to King Jeroboam of Israel:“ Amos is conspiring against you in the very heart of the kingdom of Israel! The land cannot endure all his prophecies.

But extend your hand and strike everything he has, and he will no doubt curse you to your face!”

Then Joshua and all Israel took Achan, son of Zerah, along with the silver, the robe, the bar of gold, his sons, daughters, ox, donkey, sheep, tent, and all that belonged to him and brought them up to the Valley of Disaster.Joshua said,“ Why have you brought disaster on us? The LORD will bring disaster on you today!” All Israel stoned him to death.( They also stoned and burned the others.)

For we have found this man to be a troublemaker, one who stirs up riots among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.

A false witness will not go unpunished, and the one who spouts out lies will not escape punishment.

Do not curse a king even in your thoughts, and do not curse the rich while in your bedroom; for a bird might report what you are thinking, or some winged creature might repeat your words.

They began to accuse him, saying,“ We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding us to pay the tribute tax to Caesar and claiming that he himself is Christ, a king.”

Then some of the experts in the law said to themselves,“ This man is blaspheming!”

When the days of their feasting were finished, Job would send for them and sanctify them; he would get up early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job thought,“ Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s customary practice.

Many gave false testimony against him, but their testimony did not agree.Some stood up and gave this false testimony against him:“ We heard him say,‘ I will destroy this temple made with hands and in three days build another not made with hands.’”Yet even on this point their testimony did not agree.

Then they secretly instigated some men to say,“ We have heard this man speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

Then his wife said to him,“ Are you still holding firmly to your integrity? Curse God, and die!”

The Israelite woman’s son misused the Name and cursed, so they brought him to Moses.( Now his mother’s name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)So they placed him in custody until they were able to make a clear legal decision for themselves based on words from the mouth of the LORD.Then the LORD spoke to Moses:“ Bring the one who cursed outside the camp, and all who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the whole congregation is to stone him to death.Moreover, you are to tell the Israelites,‘ If any man curses his God he will bear responsibility for his sin,and one who misuses the name of the LORD must surely be put to death. The whole congregation must surely stone him, whether he is a foreigner or a native citizen; when he misuses the Name he must be put to death.

But they covered their ears, shouting out with a loud voice, and rushed at him with one intent.When they had driven him out of the city, they began to stone him, and the witnesses laid their cloaks at the feet of a young man named Saul.They continued to stone Stephen while he prayed,“ Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”

You must stone him to death because he tried to entice you away from the LORD your God, who delivered you from the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.

Violent men perjure themselves, and falsely accuse me.

You must not offer false testimony against another.

Then the LORD said to Moses,“ The man must surely be put to death; the whole community must stone him with stones outside the camp.”So the whole community took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

They will pass through the land destitute and starving. Their hunger will make them angry, and they will curse their king and their God as they look upward.

“ I will come to you in judgment. I will be quick to testify against those who practice divination, those who commit adultery, those who break promises, and those who exploit workers, widows, and orphans, who refuse to help the immigrant and in this way show they do not fear me,” says the LORD who rules over all.

you must bring the two of them to the gate of that city and stone them to death, the young woman because she did not cry out though in the city and the man because he violated his neighbor’s fiancee; in this way you will purge evil from among you.
