即或不然，王啊，你當知道，我們絕不事奉你的神明，也不拜你所立的金像。」當時，尼布甲尼撒怒氣填胸，向沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌變了臉色，命令把窰燒熱，比平常熱七倍；又命令他軍中的幾個壯士，把沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌捆起來，扔在烈火的窰中。這三人穿着內袍、外衣、頭巾和其他的衣服，被捆起來扔在烈火的窰中。因為王的命令緊急，窰又非常熱，那抬沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌的人都被火焰燒死。但是這三個人，沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌被捆綁着，掉進烈火的窰中。那時，尼布甲尼撒王驚奇，急忙站起來，對謀士說：「我們捆起來扔在火裏的不是三個人嗎？」他們回答王說：「王啊，是的。」王說：「看哪，我看見有四個人，並沒有捆綁，在火中行走，也沒有受傷；那第四個的相貌好像神明的兒子。」

「你們審判的時候，不可不公正；不可偏護貧窮人，也不可看重有權勢人的臉，總要公平審判你的鄰舍。

眾人謀害撒迦利亞，照着王的吩咐，在耶和華殿的院內用石頭打死他。

以法蓮因喜愛遵從荒謬的命令，就受欺壓，在審判中被壓碎。

因為你遵守暗利的規條，行亞哈家一切所行的，順從他們的計謀；因此，我必使你荒涼，使你的居民遭人嗤笑，你們也必擔當我百姓的羞辱。

王吩咐左右的侍衛說：「你們轉身去殺耶和華的祭司吧！因為他們幫助大衛，知道大衛逃跑卻不告訴我。」但王的臣僕都不願動手殺耶和華的祭司。

「不可散佈謠言；不可與惡人連手作惡意的見證。不可附和羣眾作惡；不可在訴訟中附和羣眾歪曲公正，作歪曲的見證；

耶戶寫第二封信給他們，說：「你們若歸順我，聽從我的話，明日這時候，要帶着你們主人眾兒子的首級，來到耶斯列我這裏。」那時王的兒子七十人都住在城中教養他們的那些尊貴人家裏。信一到他們那裏，他們就把王的七十個兒子殺了，將首級裝在筐裏，送到耶斯列，耶戶那裏。

彼得和約翰回答他們說：「聽從你們，不聽從上帝，在上帝面前合理不合理，你們自己判斷吧！

但是接生婆敬畏上帝，不照埃及王的吩咐去做，卻讓男孩活着。

因為在夢中得到主的指示，不要回去見希律，他們就從別的路回自己的家鄉去了。
