不可亵渎上帝，也不可咒诅百姓的官长。

于是，他们暗中唆使一些人诬告司提凡说：“我们听见他说亵渎摩西和上帝的话！”

你要告诉以色列人，谁咒诅上帝，谁就要承担自己的罪。凡亵渎耶和华圣名的，必须被处死，全体会众要用石头打死他。不论是外族人还是以色列人，凡亵渎圣名的，都必须被处死。

“如果人犯了什么罪或有什么过失，不可凭一个证人作证就定罪，要有两三个证人才可以定案。

祭司长和全公会的人正在寻找假证据来控告耶稣，好定祂死罪。虽然有很多假证人诬告祂，但都找不到真凭实据。最后有两个人上前高声说：“这个人曾经说过，‘我能拆毁圣殿，三天内把它重建起来。’”大祭司站起来质问耶稣：“你不回答吗？这些人作证控告你的是什么呢？”耶稣还是沉默不语。大祭司又对祂说：“我奉永活上帝的名命令你起誓告诉我们，你是不是上帝的儿子基督？”耶稣说：“如你所言。但我告诉你们，将来你们要看见人子坐在大能者的右边，驾着天上的云降临。”大祭司撕裂衣服，说：“祂亵渎了上帝！我们还需要什么证人呢？你们现在亲耳听见了祂说亵渎的话，你们看怎么办？”他们回应说：“祂该死！”

犹太人回答说：“我们不是因为你做的善事打你，而是因为你说了亵渎的话，你是人，却把自己当作上帝。”

他们还派人作伪证说：“司提凡常常讲侮辱圣地和律法的话。

他们正欢快的时候，城里的一群无赖前来围住房子，连连叩门，对老人说：“把你家里的客人交出来，我们要跟他性交。”
