Some time later there was an incident involving a vineyard belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite. The vineyard was in Jezreel, close to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

Some time later King Ahab wanted a certain vineyard. It belonged to Naboth from Jezreel. The vineyard was in Jezreel. It was close to the palace of Ahab, the king of Samaria.

時米田、亞馬力與東方之人咸集、濟河建營於耶斯烈谷。

耶和華與、爾之鑒觀不爽、加以督責、彼不哀慟、殲滅殆盡、彼不受教、彼顏堅於石、不肯歸誠。

非利士人集其軍旅於亞弗、以色列族附耶斯烈泉建營。

其界自耶斯烈、至基蘇律、書念、

耶和華曰、可命名耶斯烈、昔耶戶殺人於耶斯烈、我將報之於俄頃、使以色列族國祚不長、當日在耶斯烈谷、我將折以色列族之弓、

耶和華為萬有之主、屢擊斯民、尚不知悛改、以求施恩、

有先知之徒、奉耶和華命、告於同儕曰、爾可擊我。同儕不從。先知之徒曰、因爾不聽耶和華命、離我之時、必見殺於獅。同儕離之、果為獅所殺。又遇一人曰、爾可擊我。擊之致傷。先知遂往、俟於途側、以迓王至、改其儀容、以巾掩面。王過時、則呼曰、臣僕往戰、有人執其敵、命我守之、曰、如其不在、爾必償命、或罰金千有五百。僕顧左右、不覺其人已逸。以色列王曰、循爾所言、必鞫爾事。速去其巾、面遂顯露。以色列王乃知為先知之徒。先知之徒曰、耶和華云、我欲殲滅者、爾反釋之、故必以爾命償其命、以爾民代其民。以色列王、憂憤交集、至撒馬利亞、而返宮闈。

我之上帝與、我罪大惡重、故罹災害、爾雖加刑、猶不及其罪、反援手以拯我、今我若違上帝命、與斯土之民通嫁娶、行不善、必干爾震怒、翦滅我儕、靡有孑遺。
