And the prophet said to him,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Since you have let go from your hand the man I had designated for destruction, your life shall be forfeited in place of his life, and your people in place of his people.’ ”

他对王说：“耶和华如此说：‘因你将我定要灭绝的人放去，你的命就必代替他的命，你的民也必代替他的民。’”

他对王说：“耶和华如此说：‘因你把我决定要消灭的人从你手中放走，所以你的命必代替他的命，你的百姓必代替他的百姓。’”

他对王说：“耶和华如此说：‘因你把我决定要消灭的人从你手中放走，所以你的命必代替他的命，你的百姓必代替他的百姓。’”

他对王说：“耶和华说，‘你放走了我决定要毁灭的人，所以你的命要抵他的命，你百姓的命要抵他百姓的命。’”

先知对王说：“耶和华这样说：因为你把我要灭绝的人从你手中放走，所以要你替他偿命。要你的人民抵偿他的人民。”

他對王說：「耶和華如此說：『因你將我定要滅絕的人放去，你的命就必代替他的命，你的民也必代替他的民。』」

他對王說：「耶和華如此說：『因你把我決定要消滅的人從你手中放走，所以你的命必代替他的命，你的百姓必代替他的百姓。』」

他對王說：「耶和華如此說：『因你把我決定要消滅的人從你手中放走，所以你的命必代替他的命，你的百姓必代替他的百姓。』」

他對王說：「耶和華說，『你放走了我決定要毀滅的人，所以你的命要抵他的命，你百姓的命要抵他百姓的命。』」

先知對王說：“耶和華這樣說：因為你把我要滅絕的人從你手中放走，所以要你替他償命。要你的人民抵償他的人民。”

他便對王說：『永恆主這麼說：「因為你將我要殺滅歸神的人從你手中放走，故此你的性命就必須代替他的性命，你的人民就必須代替他的人民。」』

彼謂王曰、耶和華云、我定當滅之人、爾由爾手釋之、故必以爾命代其命、以爾民代其民、

先知之徒曰、耶和華云、我欲殲滅者、爾反釋之、故必以爾命償其命、以爾民代其民。

先知謂王曰、主如是云、我定為必滅者、或作我所擒獲者爾反釋之去、故必以爾命代其命、以爾民代其民、

He said to the king,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ You have set free a man I had determined should die. Therefore it is your life for his life, your people for his people.’”

He told the king,“ The Lord says,‘ You have set a man free. But I had said he should be set apart to the Lord in a special way to be destroyed. So you must pay for his life with yours. You must pay for his people’s lives with the lives of your people.’ ”

And he said to him,“ Thus says the Lord,‘ Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life shall be for his life, and your people for his people.’”

The prophet said to him,“ This is what the Lord says: Because you have spared the man I said must be destroyed, now you must die in his place, and your people will die instead of his people.”

The prophet said to him,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Because you released from your hand the man I had set apart for destruction, it will be your life in place of his life and your people in place of his people.’”

Then he said to him,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Because you have let slip out of your hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.’”

And he said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.

Now the king of Aram had commanded the thirty two commanders of his chariots, saying,“ Do not fight with the small or great, but only with the king of Israel.”So when the commanders of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said,“ Surely he is the king of Israel!” And they turned aside to fight against him, and Jehoshaphat cried out.Then, when the commanders of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.Now one man drew his bow at random and struck the king of Israel in a joint of the armor. So he said to the driver of his chariot,“ Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”The battle raged on that day, and the king was propped up in his chariot in front of the Arameans, and he died at evening, and the blood from the wound ran into the bottom of the chariot.Then the word passed throughout the army close to sunset, saying,“ Every man to his city, and every man to his country!”So the king died and was brought to Samaria, and they buried the king in Samaria.

And as the king passed by, he cried out to the king and said,“ Your servant went out into the midst of the battle; and behold, a man turned aside and brought a man to me and said,‘ Guard this man; if for any reason he goes missing, then your life shall be forfeited in place of his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.’

And Hazael said,“ Why is my lord weeping?” And he answered,“ Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel: you will set their fortified cities on fire, you will kill their young men with the sword, their little ones you will smash to pieces, and you will rip up their pregnant women.”

Now one man drew his bow at random and struck the king of Israel in a joint of the armor. So he said to the driver of his chariot,“ Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”The battle raged on that day, and the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot in front of the Arameans until the evening; and at sunset he died.

Now it came about after this, that Ben hadad the king of Aram gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria.

And Ben hadad said to him,“ The cities which my father took from your father I will restore, and you can make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria.” Ahab said,“ And I will let you go with this covenant.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.

But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the more valuable animals, the lambs, and everything that was good, and were unwilling to destroy them completely; but everything despicable and weak, that they completely destroyed.Then the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying,“ I regret that I have made Saul king, because he has turned back from following Me and has not carried out My commands.” And Samuel was furious and cried out to the Lord all night.
