Now a man from the sons of the prophets said to another by the word of the Lord,“ Please strike me.” But the man refused to strike him.

By the word of the Lord one of the company of the prophets said to his companion,“ Strike me with your weapon,” but he refused.

There was a group of people called the group of the prophets. A message from the Lord came to one of their members. He said to his companion,“ Strike me down with your weapon.” But he wouldn’t do it.

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow at the command of the Lord,“ Strike me, please.” But the man refused to strike him.

Meanwhile, the Lord instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man,“ Hit me!” But the man refused to hit the prophet.

One of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow prophet by the word of the LORD,“ Strike me!” But the man refused to strike him.

Now a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his neighbor by the word of the Lord,“ Strike me, please.” And the man refused to strike him.

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his fellow by the word of Jehovah, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.

One of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow prophet by the word of the Lord,“ Strike me!” But the man refused to strike him.

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.

One of the members of the prophetic guild, speaking with divine authority, ordered his companion,“ Wound me!” But the man refused to wound him.

A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by Yahweh’s word,“ Please strike me!” The man refused to strike him.

Now when the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho opposite him saw him, they said,“ The spirit of Elijah has settled on Elisha.” And they came to meet him and bowed down to the ground before him.

For a command came to me by the word of the Lord:‘ You shall not eat bread, nor drink water there; do not return by going the way that you came.’ ”Then he said to him,“ I too am a prophet like you, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying,‘ Bring him back with you to your house, so that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” But he lied to him.

this is what the Lord has said to me:“ Make for yourself restraints and yokes and put them on your neck,and send word to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the sons of Ammon, the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon by the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

And a man from there responded and said,“ And who is their father?” Therefore it became a saying:“ Is Saul also among the prophets?”

Then get yourself an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall between yourself and the city, and direct your face toward it so that it is under siege, and besiege it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.

When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the sons of the prophets were sitting in front of him, he said to his servant,“ Put on the large pot and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

Now behold, a man of God came from Judah to Bethel by the word of the Lord, while Jeroboam was standing at the altar to burn incense.And he cried out against the altar by the word of the Lord and said,“ Altar, altar, this is what the Lord says:‘ Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name; and on you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and human bones shall burn on you.’ ”

Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are for signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of armies, who dwells on Mount Zion.

Then the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel went out to Elisha and said to him,“ Are you aware that the Lord will take away your master from over you today?” And he said,“ Yes, I am aware; say nothing about it.”And Elijah said to him,“ Elisha, please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho.” But he said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they came to Jericho.Then the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho approached Elisha and said to him,“ Do you know that the Lord will take away your master from over you today?” And he answered,“ Yes, I know; say nothing about it.”And Elijah said to him,“ Please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to the Jordan.” But he said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So the two of them went on.Now fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood opposite them at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.

at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying,“ Go and loosen the sackcloth from your hips and take your sandals off your feet.” And he did so, going naked and barefoot.Then the Lord said,“ Even as My servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and symbol against Egypt and Cush,

Now a woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying,“ Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord; and the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.”

Then Jesus said to His disciples,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.

Then Amos replied to Amaziah,“ I am not a prophet, nor am I the son of a prophet; for I am a herdsman and a grower of sycamore figs.

Then he found another man and said,“ Please strike me.” And the man struck him, injuring him.So the prophet departed and waited for the king by the road, and disguised himself with a bandage over his eyes.
