Then the man of God approached and said to the king of Israel,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Because the Arameans have said: Yahweh is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys, I will hand over all this great army to you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

有上帝僕進見以色列王曰、耶和華云、亞蘭人謂耶和華乃山嶽之神、非平原之神、故我必以此羣眾付於爾手、爾則知我乃耶和華、

上帝之僕至、告以色列王曰、耶和華云、亞蘭人謂耶和華乃山嶽之上帝、非平原之上帝、故我必以此實繁有徒、付於爾手、使爾知我乃耶和華。

有神人進前、告以色列王曰、主如是云、亞蘭人言我乃山岳之神、非平原之神、故我必以此大軍旅付於爾手、使爾知我乃主、

The man of God came up and told the king of Israel,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Because the Arameans think the Lord is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the Lord.’”

The man of God came up to the king of Israel again. He told him,“ The Lord says,‘ The men of Aram think the Lord is a god of the hills. They do not think he is a god of the valleys. So I, the Lord, will hand their huge army over to you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’ ”

And a man of God came near and said to the king of Israel,“ Thus says the Lord,‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ The Lord is a god of the hills but he is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will give all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’”

Then the man of God went to the king of Israel and said,“ This is what the Lord says: The Arameans have said,‘ The Lord is a god of the hills and not of the plains.’ So I will defeat this vast army for you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”

Then the man of God approached and said to the king of Israel,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Because the Arameans have said,“ The LORD is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys,” I will hand over all this whole huge army to you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

Then a man of God approached and spoke to the king of Israel, and said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Since the Arameans have said,“ The Lord is a god of mountains, but He is not a god of valleys,” therefore I will hand over to you all this great multitude, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’ ”

Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ The Lord is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’”

And a man of God came near and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith Jehovah, Because the Syrians have said, Jehovah is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys; therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thy hand, and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD[ is] God of the hills, but he[ is] not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I[ am] the LORD.

The prophet visited the king of Israel and said,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Because the Syrians said,“ The LORD is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys,” I will hand over to you this entire huge army. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

A man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel, and said,“ Yahweh says,‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ Yahweh is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys;” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am Yahweh.’”

A prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Do you see this entire great army? Watch, I am handing it over to you today so that you may know that I am Yahweh.’”

She said to Elijah,“ Man of God, what do we have in common? Have you come to remind me of my guilt and to kill my son?”

so you will know that I am Yahweh, whose statutes you have not followed and whose ordinances you have not practiced. Instead, you have acted according to the ordinances of the nations around you.”

I will stretch out My hand against them, and wherever they live I will make the land a desolate waste, from the wilderness to Diblah. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

What can I say, Lord, now that Israel has turned its back and run from its enemies?When the Canaanites and all who live in the land hear about this, they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. Then what will You do about Your great name?”

The Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out My hand against Egypt, and bring out the Israelites from among them.”

Then I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel profaned among the nations where they went.“ Therefore, say to the house of Israel: This is what the Lord God says: It is not for your sake that I will act, house of Israel, but for My holy name, which you profaned among the nations where you went.I will honor the holiness of My great name, which has been profaned among the nations— the name you have profaned among them. The nations will know that I am Yahweh”— the declaration of the Lord God—“ when I demonstrate My holiness through you in their sight.

It is not for your sake that I will act”— the declaration of the Lord God—“ let this be known to you. Be ashamed and humiliated because of your ways, house of Israel!

The prophet approached the king of Israel and said to him,“ Go and strengthen yourself, then consider what you should do, for in the spring the king of Aram will march against you.”Now the king of Aram’s servants said to him,“ Their gods are gods of the hill country. That’s why they were stronger than we were. Instead, we should fight with them on the plain; then we will certainly be stronger than they will be.

But I will spare a few of them from the sword, famine, and plague so they can tell about all their detestable practices among the nations where they go. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

True wisdom and power belong to Him. The deceived and the deceiver are His.He leads counselors away barefoot and makes judges go mad.He releases the bonds put on by kings and fastens a belt around their waists.He leads priests away barefoot and overthrows established leaders.

But on that day I will give special treatment to the land of Goshen, where My people are living; no flies will be there. This way you will know that I, Yahweh, am in the land.

Because your raging against Me and your arrogance have reached My ears, I will put My hook in your nose and My bit in your mouth; I will make you go back the way you came.“‘ This will be the sign for you: This year you will eat what grows on its own, and in the second year what grows from that. But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward.For a remnant will go out from Jerusalem and survivors, from Mount Zion. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish this.’“ Therefore, this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria: He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow there or come before it with a shield or build up an assault ramp against it.He will go back the way he came, and he will not enter this city. This is the Lord’s declaration.I will defend this city and rescue it because of Me and because of My servant David.”Then the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning— there were all the dead bodies!So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and left. He returned home and lived in Nineveh.

I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. You will know that I am Yahweh your God, who delivered you from the forced labor of the Egyptians.

The righteous one will rejoice when he sees the retribution; he will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.Then people will say,“ Yes, there is a reward for the righteous! There is a God who judges on earth!”

Though our guilt testifies against us, Yahweh, act for Your name’s sake. Indeed, our rebellions are many; we have sinned against You.

if I had not feared insult from the enemy, or feared that these foes might misunderstand and say:‘ Our own hand has prevailed; it wasn’t the Lord who did all this.’”

Why should the nations ask,“ Where is their God?” Before our eyes, let vengeance for the shed blood of Your servants be known among the nations.

you did not eat bread or drink wine or beer— so that you might know that I am Yahweh your God.

But I acted because of My name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations they were living among, in whose sight I had made Myself known to Israel by bringing them out of Egypt.

In the middle of the congregation, the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel( son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite from Asaph’s descendants),and he said,“ Listen carefully, all Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. This is what the Lord says:‘ Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast number, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.Tomorrow, go down against them. You will see them coming up the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the valley facing the Wilderness of Jeruel.You do not have to fight this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. He is with you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Tomorrow, go out to face them, for Yahweh is with you.’”Then Jehoshaphat bowed with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord to worship Him.Then the Levites from the sons of the Kohathites and the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel shouting with a loud voice.In the morning they got up early and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa. As they were about to go out, Jehoshaphat stood and said,“ Hear me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in Yahweh your God, and you will be established; believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.”

So I will make My holy name known among My people Israel and will no longer allow it to be profaned. Then the nations will know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.

But I acted because of My name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

A man of God came from Judah to Bethel by a revelation from the Lord while Jeroboam was standing beside the altar to burn incense.
