約拿單手腳匐在地上地爬上去，拿軍器的護兵跟着他；非利士人在約拿單面前倒下去，拿軍器的護兵也隨着殺死他們。約拿單和拿軍器的護兵起頭所擊殺的、約有二十人，大概都在一對牛能耕之地的半段之內。於是在營中、在田野間、在眾民中、人都震顫發抖；駐防兵和遊擊兵呢、也都震顫發抖；地震動，顫抖之勢非常之大。

三隊的人就都吹號角，打破瓶子，左手握着火把，右手握着號角好吹；他們都喊叫說：『有刀為永恆主，為基甸！』他們在營的四圍各站各的地方；全營的人都亂竄；又吶喊，又逃跑。三百人把三百枝號角吹了起來，永恆主使各人的刀在全營中互相擊殺；他們向西利拉逃到伯哈示他，直到亞伯米何拉河邊，靠近他巴。

亞述王西拿基立拔了營走，就回去，住在尼尼微。

我又看：在日光之下、賽跑未必給輕快的先跑到，戰爭未必給勇士得勝利，糧食也未必給智慧人得着，財富未必給明達人賺得到，恩寵也未必給有知識的人博得着：他們所碰到的就只是定時與機會。

列邦喧嚷，萬國動搖；上帝發聲，地便熔化。
