你们五个人必追赶一百人，一百人必追赶一万人；你们的仇敌必在你们面前倒在刀下。

约拿单手脚并用地爬了上去，替他拿武器的人跟着他。非利士人在约拿单面前倒下，替他拿武器的也跟在后面把他们杀死。约拿单和替他拿武器的第一次杀敌，约杀死了二十人，都是在四分之一公顷的范围内杀的。于是在营房里，在田野中和在众人中间，都有恐慌，驻军和突击队也都恐惧，地也震动，这是从神而来的恐惧。

三队的人就都吹角，打破瓦瓶，左手紧握着火把，右手紧握着角不住地吹，并且喊叫说：“耶和华和基甸的刀！”他们在营的四周各站在自己的位置；全营的人都乱跑，他们一面叫喊，一面逃跑。三百人吹那三百枝角的时候，耶和华使全营的人用刀互相击杀，然后他们向着西利拉逃到伯．哈示他，直到靠近他巴的亚伯．米何拉河边。

于是亚述王西拿基立拔营离开，回去住在尼尼微。

我又看见在日光之下，跑得快的未必得奖，勇士未必战胜，智慧的未必得粮食，精明的未必致富，博学的未必得人赏识，因为时机和际遇左右众人。

列邦喧嚷，万国动摇；神一发声，地就融化。
