“ Take them alive,” Ben hadad commanded,“ whether they have come for peace or for war.”

He and King Amaziah of Judah met face to face at Beth-shemesh that belonged to Judah.Judah was routed before Israel, and each man fled to his own tent.

“ Come here,” the Philistine called to David,“ and I’ll give your flesh to the birds of the sky and the wild beasts!”

Before his downfall a person’s heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.
