誰有災禍？誰有憂傷？誰有爭吵？誰有怨言？誰無故受傷？誰兩眼發紅？就是那些沉迷醉鄉，品嚐醇和之酒的人！雖然鮮紅的酒在杯中閃爍，喝下去痛快，但不要盯著它。它終必像蛇一樣傷你，像毒蛇一樣咬你。

倘若有人來攻打你，那必不是我的旨意。攻打你的必然失敗。

沉溺酒色，喪失心志。

一國之君若年幼無知，他的臣宰從早到晚只顧宴樂，那國就有禍了！一國之君若英明尊貴，他的臣宰為了強身健體而節制飲食，不酗酒宴樂，那國就有福了！

耶和華藉哈拿尼的兒子耶戶先知譴責巴沙和他全家，是因為他像耶羅波安家一樣做耶和華視為惡的事，惹耶和華發怒，也因為他殺了耶羅波安全家。
