The king of Israel answered,“ Say this:‘ Don’t let the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.’”

以色列王说：“你告诉他说，才顶盔贯甲的，休要像摘盔卸甲的夸口。”

以色列王回答说：“你们告诉他说，‘刚束上腰带的，不要像已卸下的那样夸口。’”

以色列王说：“你去告诉便·哈达，叫他别刚穿上盔甲就夸口，打完仗卸下盔甲再夸口吧。”

以色列王回答说：“你们去告诉他，佩戴武器的人，不可像解除武器的那样自夸。”

以色列王回答說：「你們告訴他說，『剛束上腰帶的，不要像已卸下的那樣誇口。』」

以色列王說：「你去告訴便·哈達，叫他別剛穿上盔甲就誇口，打完仗卸下盔甲再誇口吧。」

以色列王回答說：“你們去告訴他，佩戴武器的人，不可像解除武器的那樣自誇。”

以色列王回答說：『你們只要說：「才束上武裝的、休要像解掉了的來誇口。」』

以色列王曰、爾告之云、披甲者、勿效卸甲者而誇、

以色列王對曰、卸甲之士可以凱歌、披甲之士勿效之。

以色列王曰、爾曹告之云、方披甲者勿自誇、卸甲者自誇可也、

The king of Israel answered,“ Tell him:‘ One who puts on his armor should not boast like one who takes it off.’”

The king of Israel replied. He said,“ Tell him,‘ Someone who puts his armor on shouldn’t brag like someone who takes it off.’ ”

And the king of Israel answered,“ Tell him,‘ Let not him who straps on his armor boast himself as he who takes it off.’”

The king of Israel sent back this answer:“ A warrior putting on his sword for battle should not boast like a warrior who has already won.”

Then the king of Israel replied,“ Tell him,‘ He who straps on his weapons had better not boast like one who takes them off.’ ”

So the king of Israel answered and said,“ Tell him,‘ Let not the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.’”

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his armor boast himself as he that putteth it off.

The king of Israel answered,“ Say this:‘ Don’t let the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.’”

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell[ him], Let not him that girdeth on[ his harness] boast himself as he that putteth it off.

The king of Israel replied,“ Tell him the one who puts on his battle gear should not boast like one who is taking it off.”

The king of Israel answered,“ Tell him,‘ Don’t let him who puts on his armor brag like he who takes it off.’”

Don’t boast about tomorrow, for you don’t know what a day might bring.

Peter told him,“ Even if everyone falls away because of you, I will never fall away.”“ Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to him,“ tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”“ Even if I have to die with you,” Peter told him,“ I will never deny you,” and all the disciples said the same thing.

The men of the garrison called to Jonathan and his armor-bearer.“ Come on up, and we’ll teach you a lesson!” they said.“ Follow me,” Jonathan told his armor-bearer,“ for the LORD has handed them over to Israel.”Jonathan climbed up using his hands and feet, with his armor-bearer behind him. Jonathan cut them down, and his armor-bearer followed and finished them off.

Does an ax exalt itself above the one who chops with it? Does a saw magnify itself above the one who saws with it? It would be like a rod waving the ones who lift it! It would be like a staff lifting the one who isn’t wood!Therefore the Lord GOD of Armies will inflict an emaciating disease on the well-fed of Assyria, and he will kindle a burning fire under its glory.

and Peter remembered the words Jesus had spoken,“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Jonathan said to the attendant who carried his weapons,“ Come on, let’s cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised men. Perhaps the LORD will help us. Nothing can keep the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few.”

“ Come here,” the Philistine called to David,“ and I’ll give your flesh to the birds of the sky and the wild beasts!”David said to the Philistine,“ You come against me with a sword, spear, and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD of Armies, the God of the ranks of Israel— you have defied him.Today, the LORD will hand you over to me. Today, I’ll strike you down, remove your head, and give the corpses of the Philistine camp to the birds of the sky and the wild creatures of the earth. Then all the world will know that Israel has a God,and this whole assembly will know that it is not by sword or by spear that the LORD saves, for the battle is the LORD’s. He will hand you over to us.”

Again I saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, or the battle to the strong, or bread to the wise, or riches to the discerning, or favor to the skillful; rather, time and chance happen to all of them.
