Now Ben-Hadad king of Aram mustered his entire army. Accompanied by thirty-two kings with their horses and chariots, he went up and besieged Samaria and attacked it.

於是，亞撒把耶和華殿裡和王宮庫房裡剩餘的金銀交給臣僕，派他們送給大馬士革的亞蘭王，即他伯利們的兒子、希旬的孫子便·哈達，說：

便·哈達接受了亞撒王的提議，派將領攻打以色列的城邑，攻佔了以雲、但、亞伯·伯·瑪迦、基尼烈全境和拿弗他利全境。

亞蘭王已經吩咐他的三十二名戰車長不要跟對方的大小軍兵交鋒，只攻擊以色列王。

非利士人調兵遣將，要攻打以色列。他們有三萬輛戰車和六千騎兵，步兵多如海邊的沙。大軍來到伯·亞文以東的密抹，駐紮在那裡。

亞多尼·比色說：「從前七十個王的大拇指和大腳趾被我砍掉，在我桌下撿食物碎屑，現在上帝照我的行為報應我了。」他們把他帶到耶路撒冷，他死在那裡了。

暗利用了六十八公斤銀子向撒瑪買了撒瑪利亞山，在上面建了一座城，按原來主人撒瑪的名字稱之為撒瑪利亞。

「你們和敵人交戰時，面對比你們強大的軍隊及戰車戰馬，不要害怕，因為你們的上帝耶和華與你們同在，祂曾帶領你們離開埃及。

因為你們毀約，我要用戰禍報應你們。你們躲進各城的時候，我要在你們中間降下瘟疫，使你們落在敵人手裡。

亞述王攻打以色列全境，並圍困撒瑪利亞三年。何細亞執政第九年，撒瑪利亞淪陷。亞述王把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘、歌散的哈博河一帶以及瑪代人的各城。

在你們的上帝耶和華所賜給你們的土地上，他們要把你們圍困在各個城邑中，直到你們所依賴的高大堅固的城牆都倒塌。

「王中之王亞達薛西降旨給精通天上上帝律法的教師以斯拉祭司，願你平安！

我要焚燒大馬士革的城牆和便·哈達的宮殿。」

「主耶和華說，『我要使那王中之王的巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒率領大隊人馬、戰車和騎兵從北方來攻打泰爾。

一天，以利沙到了大馬士革。當時亞蘭王便·哈達正在生病，他得知上帝的僕人來了，便對哈薛說：「你帶著禮物去見上帝的僕人，請他求問耶和華，看看我這病能否痊癒。」哈薛用四十頭駱駝馱著大馬士革的各種美物前去拜見以利沙。到了那裡，他站在以利沙面前說：「你兒子亞蘭王便·哈達派我來問你，他的病能否痊癒？」以利沙對哈薛說：「你去告訴他，他一定會痊癒。不過，耶和華告訴我他會死。」

於是，亞撒收集耶和華殿裡和王宮庫房裡的金銀，派人送給住在大馬士革的亞蘭王便·哈達，說：「我們之間應立盟約，像我們的父親之間立約一樣，現在奉上金銀為禮，請你取消與以色列王巴沙立的盟約。這樣，他就會從我境內退兵。」便·哈達接受了亞撒王的提議，派將領攻打以色列的城邑，攻佔了以雲、但、亞伯·瑪音和拿弗他利所有的儲貨城。

率領埃及所有的戰車，包括六百輛最精銳的戰車，每輛車上都有戰車長。

耶賓王擁有九百輛鐵戰車，他殘暴地壓迫以色列人二十年。以色列人向耶和華呼求。

後來，亞蘭王便·哈達召集全軍圍困撒瑪利亞。撒瑪利亞被困後，城裡陷入嚴重饑荒，以致一個驢頭可賣九百克銀子，二百克鴿子糞可賣十一克銀子。一天，以色列王從城牆上走過，一個婦人向他哭喊道：「我主我王啊，求你幫幫我！」王說：「如果耶和華不幫助你，我怎能幫助你呢？我既無糧也無酒。你有什麼難處呢？」婦人說：「這個女人對我說，『我們今天吃你兒子，明天再吃我兒子。』於是我們把我兒子煮了吃。第二天我叫她把她兒子交出來，她卻把兒子藏了起來。」

所以我要降火在哈薛王家，燒毀便·哈達王的城堡。

你藉你的使者侮辱主。你說你帶著許多戰車上到群山之巔，上到黎巴嫩的巔峰，砍下最高的香柏樹和上好的松樹，征服最高的山和最美的樹林。

王應該撤去諸王，委任將領代替他們，

他說，『我的臣僕都要做藩王！

中午，便·哈達正跟盟軍的三十二個王在營中狂飲的時候，亞哈率軍出發了。

王啊，你是萬王之王，天上的上帝已將國度、權柄、能力和尊榮賜給你，

那時，示拿王暗拉非、以拉撒王亞略、以攔王基大老瑪和戈印王提達聯合攻打以下五王：所多瑪王比拉、蛾摩拉王比沙、押瑪王示納、洗扁王善以別和比拉王，即瑣珥王。
