and the LORD will fulfill his promise to me,‘ If your descendants watch their step and live faithfully in my presence with all their heart and being, then,’ he promised,‘ you will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’

耶和华必成就向我所应许的话说：‘你的子孙若谨慎自己的行为，尽心尽意诚诚实实地行在我面前，就不断人坐以色列的国位。’

耶和华必成就他所说关于我的话，说：‘你的子孙若谨慎自己的行为，尽心尽意凭信实行在我面前，就不断有人坐以色列的王位。’

致耶和華應其指我所言曰、若爾子孫、慎其道途、一心一意行於我前、真實無妄、則爾必不乏人、踐以色列國位、

昔耶和華有應許、若我子孫所為謹恪、一心一意行於其前、真實毋妄、則不絶我嗣、踐以色列國位。如爾恪守斯命、則其前言必不食也。

主亦必踐向我所應許之言、主曾應許我曰、如爾子孫謹慎其道、盡心盡意、誠實無妄、行於我前、則將繼爾坐以色列國位、永遠不絕、

and that the Lord may keep his promise to me:‘ If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’

The Lord will keep the promise he made to me. He said,‘ Your sons must be careful about how they live. They must be faithful to me with all their heart and soul. Then you will always have a son from your family line to sit on the throne of Israel.’

that the Lord may establish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying,‘ If your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

If you do this, then the Lord will keep the promise he made to me. He told me,‘ If your descendants live as they should and follow me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.’

and so that the LORD will fulfill his promise that he made to me:‘ If your sons take care to walk faithfully before me with all their heart and all their soul, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’

so that the Lord may fulfill His promise which He spoke regarding me, saying,‘ If your sons are careful about their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and all their soul, you shall not be deprived of a man to occupy the throne of Israel.’

that the Lord may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying,‘ If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,’ He said,‘ you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

that Jehovah may establish his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee( said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

and so that the Lord will carry out His promise that He made to me:‘ If your sons are careful to walk faithfully before Me with their whole mind and heart, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’

That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee( said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

Then Yahweh may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying,‘ If your children are careful of their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you,’ he said,‘ a man on the throne of Israel.’

Now, O LORD, God of Israel, keep the promise you made to your servant, my father David, when you said,‘ You will never fail to have a successor ruling before me on the throne of Israel, provided that your descendants watch their step and serve me as you have done.’

“ Please, LORD. Remember how I have served you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion, and how I have carried out your will.” Then Hezekiah wept bitterly.

So now, O LORD God, make this promise you have made about your servant and his family a permanent reality. Do as you promised,

Now, if you pay close attention to my commandments that I am giving you today and love the LORD your God and serve him with all your mind and being,

They were both righteous in the sight of God, following all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly.

The LORD was with Jehoshaphat because he followed in his ancestor David’s footsteps at the beginning of his reign. He did not seek the Baals,

No king before or after repented before the LORD as he did, with his whole heart, soul, and being in accordance with the whole law of Moses.

You must love the LORD your God with your whole mind, your whole being, and all your strength.

Jesus said to him,“‘ Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Wicked men will be wiped out, but those who rely on the LORD are the ones who will possess the land.

“ And you, Solomon my son, obey the God of your father and serve him with a submissive attitude and a willing spirit, for the LORD examines all minds and understands every motive of one’s thoughts. If you seek him, he will let you find him, but if you abandon him, he will reject you permanently.

When the time comes for you to die, I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, and I will establish his kingdom.He will build me a house, and I will make his dynasty permanent.I will become his father and he will become my son. I will never withhold my loyal love from him, as I withheld it from the one who ruled before you.I will put him in permanent charge of my house and my kingdom; his dynasty will be permanent.”’”Nathan told David all these words that were revealed to him.

and during the time when I appointed judges to lead my people Israel. Instead, I will give you relief from all your enemies. The LORD declares to you that he himself will build a dynastic house for you.When the time comes for you to die, I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, and I will establish his kingdom.He will build a house for my name, and I will make his dynasty permanent.I will become his father and he will become my son. When he sins, I will correct him with the rod of men and with wounds inflicted by human beings.But my loyal love will not be removed from him as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.Your house and your kingdom will stand before me permanently; your dynasty will be permanent.’”

If you follow my instructions by obeying my rules and regulations, just as your father David did, then I will grant you long life.”

If you obey these ordinances and are careful to do them, the LORD your God will faithfully keep covenant with you as he promised your ancestors.

Then I will allow your dynasty to rule over Israel permanently, just as I promised your father David,‘ You will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’

“ Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain in my love.If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

I will give him an eternal dynasty, and make his throne as enduring as the skies above.If his sons reject my law and disobey my regulations,if they break my rules and do not keep my commandments,I will punish their rebellion by beating them with a club, their sin by inflicting them with bruises.But I will not remove my loyal love from him, nor be unfaithful to my promise.I will not break my covenant or go back on what I promised.Once and for all I have vowed by my own holiness, I will never deceive David.His dynasty will last forever. His throne will endure before me, like the sun,it will remain stable, like the moon, his throne will endure like the skies.”( Selah)

For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to wage war; the city will be taken, its houses plundered, and the women raped. Then half of the city will go into exile, but the remainder of the people will not be taken away.

“‘ If you walk in my statutes and are sure to obey my commandments,

Look, you will have a son, who will be a peaceful man. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. Indeed, Solomon will be his name; I will give Israel peace and quiet during his reign.He will build a temple to honor me; he will become my son, and I will become his father. I will grant to his dynasty permanent rule over Israel.’“ Now, my son, may the LORD be with you! May you succeed and build a temple for the LORD your God, just as he announced you would.

From all the many sons the LORD has given me, he chose Solomon my son to rule on his behalf over Israel.He said to me,‘ Solomon your son is the one who will build my temple and my courts, for I have chosen him to become my son and I will become his father.I will establish his kingdom permanently, if he remains committed to obeying my commands and regulations, as you are doing this day.’

I have chosen him so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just. Then the LORD will give to Abraham what he promised him.”

Solomon demonstrated his loyalty to the LORD by following the practices of his father David, except that he offered sacrifices and burned incense on the high places.

When Abram was 99 years old, the LORD appeared to him and said,“ I am the sovereign God. Walk before me and be blameless.

Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you except to revere him, to obey all his commandments, to love him, to serve him with all your mind and being,

The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant before the LORD, agreeing to follow the LORD and to obey his commandments, laws, and rules with all his heart and being, by carrying out the terms of this covenant recorded on this scroll. All the people agreed to keep the covenant.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit,maintain yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life.

He prayed:“ O LORD, God of Israel, there is no god like you in heaven above or on earth below! You maintain covenantal loyalty to your servants who obey you with sincerity.

The LORD made a reliable promise to David; he will not go back on his word. He said,“ I will place one of your descendants on your throne.If your sons keep my covenant and the rules I teach them, their sons will also sit on your throne forever.”

Surely those favored by the LORD will possess the land, but those rejected by him will be wiped out.

Now to the one who is able to keep you from falling, and to cause you to stand, rejoicing, without blemish before his glorious presence,
