智慧的王簸篩細察惡人，用碌碡輥軋他們。

大衛王來到巴戶琳，忽見有一個人從那裏出來，是屬掃羅家的族系，名叫示每，是基拉的兒子：他一面走，一面咒罵；又拿石頭打大衛和大衛王所有的臣僕：眾民和眾勇士都在王左右。示每咒罵的時候是這樣說的：他說：『你這流人血的人哪，你這無賴子啊，出走吧，出走吧！你流掃羅全家的血，接替他作王：永恆主把這罪歸在你身上，將王權交給你兒子押沙龍；看哪，你已在你自己的惡作劇中了，因為你是流人血的人。』洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩對王說：『這死狗為甚麼咒罵我主我王呢？容我過去、取下他的頭來。』

押沙龍住在耶路撒冷足有兩年工夫；王的面他都沒有見。

王說：『叫他回自己家去，我的面他可不要見』；押沙龍就回自己家去；王的面他都沒有見。

王坐在審判座上，以眼目簸篩細察各樣壞事。
