The king put Benaiah son of Jehoiada over the army in Joab’s position and replaced Abiathar with Zadok the priest.

The king put Benaiah in charge of the army. Benaiah took Joab’s place. The king also put Zadok the priest in Abiathar’s place.

以下這些人是亞倫的子孫：亞倫的兒子是以利亞撒，以利亞撒的兒子是非尼哈，非尼哈的兒子是亞比書，亞比書的兒子是布基，布基的兒子是烏西，烏西的兒子是西拉希雅，西拉希雅的兒子是米拉約，米拉約的兒子是亞瑪利雅，亞瑪利雅的兒子是亞希突，亞希突的兒子是撒督，撒督的兒子是亞希瑪斯。

我要為自己興起一位忠心的祭司，他必依照我的心意行事；我要為他建立一個穩固的家，他一生必行在我的受膏者面前。

以利亞撒生非尼哈，非尼哈生亞比書，亞比書生布基，布基生烏西，烏西生西拉希雅，西拉希雅生米拉約，米拉約生亞瑪利雅，亞瑪利雅生亞希突，亞希突生撒督，撒督生亞希瑪斯，亞希瑪斯生亞撒利雅，亞撒利雅生約哈難，約哈難生亞撒利雅（這亞撒利雅曾在耶路撒冷所羅門建造的聖殿中作祭司），亞撒利雅生亞瑪利雅，亞瑪利雅生亞希突，亞希突生撒督，撒督生沙龍，沙龍生希勒家，希勒家生亞撒利雅，亞撒利雅生西萊雅，西萊雅生約薩答；在耶和華藉尼布甲尼撒擄掠猶大人和耶路撒冷人的時候，這約薩答也被擄去了。（本章1~15節在《馬索拉文本》為5:27~41）

“亞倫祭司的孫子、以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈，使我的烈怒稍消，不向以色列人發作，因為他在他們中間以我忌邪的心為心，使我不因我忌邪的心把他們消滅。因此你要說：‘現在我把平安之約賜給他，要給他和他的後裔作為永遠擔當祭司職分的約，因為他為他的神有忌邪的心，為以色列人贖罪。’”

願他的年日短少，願別人取代他的職分。
