The Lord will return his blood on his own head, because he struck two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword, while my father David did not know about it: Abner the son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.

Take away the wicked before the king, And his throne will be established in righteousness.

So I will establish his descendants forever, And his throne as the days of heaven.

If your sons will keep My covenant And My testimony which I will teach them, Their sons also will sit upon your throne forever.”

And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”

“ Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased.”

And all the people replied,“ His blood shall be on us and on our children!”

Appoint a wicked person over him, And may an accuser stand at his right hand.When he is judged, may he come out guilty, And may his prayer become sin.May his days be few; May another take his office.May his children be fatherless, And his wife a widow.May his children wander about and beg; And may they seek sustenance far from their ruined homes.May the creditor seize everything that he has, And may strangers plunder the product of his labor.May there be none to extend kindness to him, Nor any to be gracious to his fatherless children.May his descendants be eliminated; May their name be wiped out in a following generation.May the guilt of his fathers be remembered before the Lord, And do not let the sin of his mother be wiped out.May they be before the Lord continually, So that He may eliminate their memory from the earth;

Afterward, when David heard about this, he said,“ I and my kingdom are innocent before the Lord forever of the blood of Abner the son of Ner.May it turn upon the head of Joab and on all his father’s house; and may there not be eliminated from the house of Joab someone who suffers a discharge, or has leprosy, or holds the spindle, or falls by the sword, or lacks bread.”

Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence afflicted with leprosy, as white as snow.

His descendants shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me.It shall be established forever like the moon, And a witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah

For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.

Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make decisions by what His ears hear;But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the humble of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.Also righteousness will be the belt around His hips, And faithfulness the belt around His waist.And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fattened steer will be together; And a little boy will lead them.Also the cow and the bear will graze, Their young will lie down together, And the lion will eat straw like the ox.The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea.

Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, So as to eliminate from the city of the Lord all those who do injustice.
