May the guilt of their blood rest on the head of Joab and his descendants forever. But on David and his descendants, his house and his throne, may there be the Lord’s peace forever.”

May Joab and his children after him be held forever accountable for spilling the blood of Abner and Amasa. But may David and his children after him enjoy the Lord’ s peace and rest forever. May the Lord also give his peace to David’s royal house and kingdom forever.”

The responsibility for their deaths will come back to Joab and to his descendants forever, but for David, his descendants, his dynasty, and his throne, there will be peace from the LORD forever.”

The Lord will bring back his own blood on his head because he struck down two men more righteous and better than he, without my father David’s knowledge. With his sword, Joab murdered Abner son of Ner, commander of Israel’s army, and Amasa son of Jether, commander of Judah’s army.

Remove the wicked from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established in righteousness.

I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as heaven lasts.

If your sons keep My covenant and My decrees that I will teach them, their sons will also sit on your throne forever.”

Now listen: You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will call His name Jesus.He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.

Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people He favors!

All the people answered,“ His blood be on us and on our children!”

Set a wicked person over him; let an accuser stand at his right hand.When he is judged, let him be found guilty, and let his prayer be counted as sin.Let his days be few; let another take over his position.Let his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.Let his children wander as beggars, searching for food far from their demolished homes.Let a creditor seize all he has; let strangers plunder what he has worked for.Let no one show him kindness, and let no one be gracious to his fatherless children.Let the line of his descendants be cut off; let their name be blotted out in the next generation.Let his ancestors’ guilt be remembered before the Lord, and do not let his mother’s sin be blotted out.Let their sins always remain before the Lord, and let Him erase all memory of them from the earth.

David heard about it later and said:“ I and my kingdom are forever innocent before the Lord concerning the blood of Abner son of Ner.May it hang over Joab’s head and his father’s whole house, and may the house of Joab never be without someone who has a discharge or a skin disease, or a man who can only work a spindle, or someone who falls by the sword or starves.”

Therefore, Naaman’s skin disease will cling to you and your descendants forever.” So Gehazi went out from his presence diseased— white as snow.

His offspring will continue forever, his throne like the sun before Me,like the moon, established forever, a faithful witness in the sky.” Selah

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.The dominion will be vast, and its prosperity will never end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from now on and forever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish this.

Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him— a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.His delight will be in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what He sees with His eyes, He will not execute justice by what He hears with His ears,but He will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with discipline from His mouth, and He will kill the wicked with a command from His lips.Righteousness will be a belt around His loins; faithfulness will be a belt around His waist.The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat. The calf, the young lion, and the fatling will be together, and a child will lead them.The cow and the bear will graze, their young ones will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox.An infant will play beside the cobra’s pit, and a toddler will put his hand into a snake’s den.None will harm or destroy another on My entire holy mountain, for the land will be as full of the knowledge of the Lord as the sea is filled with water.

Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, eliminating all evildoers from the Lord’s city.
