大衛聽到消息就說：「耶和華作證，我和我的人民永遠跟尼珥的兒子押尼珥的死無關。約押和他全家要承擔這罪，願他的後代永遠有長瘡的、患皮膚病的、拄拐杖的、被刀劍所殺的或挨餓的。」

因此，你和你的後代會永遠沾染乃縵的痲瘋病。」基哈西離開以利沙時，患了痲瘋病，皮膚像雪一樣白。

就像樹墩上長出新的枝條，大衛的後裔中必有一人做王。耶和華的靈必住在他身上，使他有聰明和智慧、謀略和能力，能認識並敬畏耶和華。他必以敬畏耶和華為樂。他不憑眼見施行審判，不憑耳聞斷定是非，而是按公義審判貧窮人，以公正為受苦者斷案。他必用口中的杖擊打世界，以嘴裡的氣殺戮惡人。公義必作他的腰帶，信實必作他肋下的帶子。那時，豺狼和綿羊羔同住，豹子和山羊羔同臥，牛犢和獅子同群，小孩子可以照看牠們。牛與熊一起吃喝，小牛和小熊一起躺臥，獅子像牛一樣吃草。吃奶的嬰孩在毒蛇的洞口玩耍，斷奶的孩子把手伸進蛇洞。在我的整個聖山上，牠們都不傷人、不害物。認識耶和華的人必充滿天下，就像水充滿海洋一樣。

每天早晨我要消滅國中所有的惡人，從耶和華的城中剷除一切作惡的人。
