The king said to the priest Abiathar,“ Go to your fields in Anathoth. Even though you deserve to die, I will not put you to death today, since you carried the ark of the Lord GOD in the presence of my father David and you suffered through all that my father suffered.”

王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突的老家去吧。你本是该死的，但我念你在我父大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，曾经与我父亲患难与共，才饶你一命。”

王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突自己的田地去吧！你本来是该死的，但我今天不杀死你，因为你在我父亲大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，又与我父亲同受一切苦难。”

王對祭司亞比亞他說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前擡過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不將你殺死。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不殺死你。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不殺死你。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：「你回亞拿突的老家去吧。你本是該死的，但我念你在我父大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，曾經與我父親患難與共，才饒你一命。」

王對亞比亞他祭司說：“你回亞拿突自己的田地去吧！你本來是該死的，但我今天不殺死你，因為你在我父親大衛面前抬過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難。”

王也對祭司亞比亞他說：『你往亞拿突、到你自己的田地去吧；你本是該死的人。但今天我不將你殺死，因為你在我父親大衛面前帶過神諭像，又在我父親所受的一切苦難中同受過苦難。』

王謂祭司亞比亞他曰、歸亞拿突、返爾田畝、爾原當死、惟爾在我父大衛前、舁主耶和華之匱、又與我父共苦、此時我不殺爾、

王告祭司亞庇亞塔曰、昔爾舁耶和華上帝之匱、在我父大闢前、恆與我父同憂、今雖當死、我不於此時殺爾、盍歸故土亞拿突。

王謂祭司亞比亞他曰、爾可往亞拿突歸爾田、爾罪當死、因爾昔舁主天主之匱在我父大衛前、恆與我父同受苦難、故我今日不殺爾、

To Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go back to your fields in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but I will not put you to death now, because you carried the ark of the Sovereign Lord before my father David and shared all my father’s hardships.”

The king spoke to Abiathar the priest. He said,“ Go back to your fields in Anathoth. You should really be put to death. But I won’t have it done now. That’s because you carried the ark of the Lord and King. You did it for my father David. You shared all of his hard times.”

And to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your estate, for you deserve death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before David my father, and because you shared in all my father’s affliction.”

Then the king said to Abiathar the priest,“ Go back to your home in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but I will not kill you now, because you carried the Ark of the Sovereign Lord for David my father and you shared all his hardships.”

Then to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth to your own field, for you deserve to die; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before my father David, and because you were afflicted in everything with which my father was afflicted.”

And to Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your own fields, for you are deserving of death; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord GOD before my father David, and because you were afflicted every time my father was afflicted.”

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord Jehovah before David my father, and because thou wast afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

The king said to Abiathar the priest,“ Go to your fields in Anathoth. Even though you deserve to die, I will not put you to death today, since you carried the ark of the Lord God in the presence of my father David and you suffered through all that my father suffered.”

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou[ art] worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

The king then told Abiathar the priest,“ Go back to your property in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but today I will not kill you because you did carry the ark of the sovereign LORD before my father David and you suffered with my father through all his difficult times.”

To Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your own fields; for you are worthy of death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the Lord Yahweh’s ark before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all in which my father was afflicted.”

Anathoth with its pasturelands, and Almon with its pasturelands— four cities.

However, one of the sons of Ahimelech son of Ahitub escaped. His name was Abiathar, and he fled to David.Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the LORD.Then David said to Abiathar,“ I knew that Doeg the Edomite was there that day and that he was sure to report to Saul. I myself am responsible for the lives of everyone in your father’s family.Stay with me. Don’t be afraid, for the one who wants to take my life wants to take your life. You will be safe with me.”

And whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.”

The words of Jeremiah, the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests living in Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin.

Zadok was also there, and all the Levites with him were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. They set the ark of God down, and Abiathar offered sacrifices until the people had finished marching past.Then the king instructed Zadok,“ Return the ark of God to the city. If I find favor with the LORD, he will bring me back and allow me to see both it and its dwelling place.However, if he should say,‘ I do not delight in you,’ then here I am— he can do with me whatever pleases him.”The king also said to the priest Zadok,“ Look, return to the city in peace and your two sons with you: your son Ahimaaz and Abiathar’s son Jonathan.Remember, I’ll wait at the fords of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me.”So Zadok and Abiathar returned the ark of God to Jerusalem and stayed there.

What you have done is not good. As the LORD lives, all of you deserve to die since you didn’t protect your lord, the LORD’s anointed. Now look around; where are the king’s spear and water jug that were by his head?”

Cry aloud, daughter of Gallim! Listen, Laishah! Anathoth is miserable.

David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.He said to them,“ You are the heads of the Levite families. You and your relatives must consecrate yourselves so that you may bring the ark of the LORD God of Israel to the place I have prepared for it.

He conspired with Joab son of Zeruiah and with the priest Abiathar. They supported Adonijah,

You are those who stood by me in my trials.

For today he went down and lavishly sacrificed oxen, fattened cattle, and sheep. He invited all the sons of the king, the commanders of the army, and the priest Abiathar. And look! They’re eating and drinking in his presence, and they’re saying,‘ Long live King Adonijah!’

Did you experience so much for nothing— if in fact it was for nothing?

David was infuriated with the man and said to Nathan,“ As the LORD lives, the man who did this deserves to die!

Abiathar son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, and he brought an ephod with him.When it was reported to Saul that David had gone to Keilah, he said,“ God has handed him over to me, for he has trapped himself by entering a town with barred gates.”Then Saul summoned all the troops to go to war at Keilah and besiege David and his men.When David learned that Saul was plotting evil against him, he said to the priest Abiathar,“ Bring the ephod.”

Then the king appointed Benaiah son of Jehoiada in Joab’s place over the army, and he appointed the priest Zadok in Abiathar’s place.
