所羅門王就指着永恆主來起誓、說：『亞多尼雅說了這話、是自己送命的；不然，願上帝這樣懲罰我，並且加倍地懲罰。

所羅門王乃指耶和華而誓曰、亞多尼雅言此、是自喪其命、不然、願上帝罰我維倍、

遂指耶和華而誓、曰、因亞多尼雅言此、必喪其命、不然願上帝罰我。

所羅門王遂指主而誓曰、亞多尼雅此言、乃自喪命、不然、願天主從重罰我、

Then King Solomon made a promise in the name of the Lord. He said,“ Adonijah will pay with his life because of what he has asked for. If he doesn’t, may God punish me greatly.

Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying,“ God do so to me and more also if this word does not cost Adonijah his life!

Then King Solomon made a vow before the Lord:“ May God strike me and even kill me if Adonijah has not sealed his fate with this request.

Then King Solomon took an oath by the LORD:“ May God punish me and do so severely if Adonijah has not made this request at the cost of his life.

Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying,“ May God do so to me and more so, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life!

Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”
