Then he came there to a cave and spent the night there; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the Lord came to him:“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

But now what are you doing on the road to Egypt, Except to drink the waters of the Nile? Or what are you doing on the road to Assyria, Except to drink the waters of the Euphrates River?

Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him,“ Where are you?”

But Jonah got up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship that was going to Tarshish, paid the fare, and boarded it to go with them to Tarshish away from the presence of the Lord.However, the Lord hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea, so that the ship was about to break up.

Then the Lord said,“ Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock;and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.

Oh that I had in the desert A travelers’ lodging place; So that I might leave my people And go away from them! For all of them are adulterers, An assembly of treacherous people.

( people of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts, on mountains, and sheltering in caves and holes in the ground.
