So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.

So he got up. He ate and drank. The food gave him new strength. He traveled for 40 days and 40 nights. He kept going until he arrived at Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mount of God.

So he got up, ate, and drank. Then on the strength from that food, he walked 40 days and 40 nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.

摩西在耶和华那里待了四十昼夜，没吃也没喝。耶和华把约的内容，就是十条诫命，写在石版上。

“我又俯伏在耶和华面前，四十昼夜不吃不喝，因为你们犯了大罪，做耶和华憎恶的事，惹祂发怒。

摩西为岳父米甸祭司叶忒罗放羊。一天他领着羊群穿越旷野，来到上帝的山——何烈山。

耶稣禁食了四十昼夜后，很饥饿。

在那里受魔鬼的试探四十天。那些日子耶稣什么也没吃。那段日子过后，祂饿了。

祂在旷野受撒旦的试探四十天。祂与野兽在一起，有天使服侍祂。

因为耶和华在火中降临到西奈山，整座山都冒着浓烟，滚滚上腾，好像一个大火窑，整座山都震动起来。

“你们要记住我仆人摩西的律法，就是我在何烈山借着他传给以色列人的律例和典章。“看啊，在耶和华那伟大而可畏的日子来临以前，我必差遣以利亚先知到你们那里。

十天后，但以理和他三个朋友看上去比那些用御膳的青年更俊美健康。

但祂说：“我的恩典足够你用，因为我的能力在人的软弱上更显得全备。”所以，我更喜欢夸耀自己的软弱，好让基督的能力荫庇我。

那时，我上山去接受耶和华与你们立约的石版，在山上待了四十昼夜，不吃也不喝。耶和华把两块立约的石版交给我，上面刻着那天你们聚会时祂在山上的火焰中对你们说的话，是祂用手指刻上去的。四十昼夜后，耶和华把那两块刻着约的石版交给我，
