我，惟有我是安慰你們的。你是誰，竟怕那必死的人，怕那生命如草的世人，卻忘記鋪張諸天、立定地基、造你的耶和華？你因欺壓者圖謀毀滅所發的暴怒，終日害怕，其實那欺壓者的暴怒在哪裏呢？

彼得在眾人面前卻不承認，說：「我不知道你說的是甚麼！」他出去，到了門口，又有一個使女看見他，就對那裏的人說：「這個人是同拿撒勒人耶穌一起的。」彼得又不承認，起誓說：「我不認得那個人。」過了不久，旁邊站着的人進前來，對彼得說：「你的確是他們一夥的，你的口音把你顯露出來了彼得就賭咒發誓說：「我不認得那個人。」立刻雞就叫了。

於是亞瑪謝對阿摩司說：「你這先見哪，要逃到猶大地，在那裏過活，在那裏說預言；卻不要在伯特利再說預言，因為這裏有王的聖所，有王的宮殿。」

法老聽見這事，就設法要殺摩西。於是摩西逃走，躲避法老，到了米甸地，坐在井旁。
