So Elisha left him and went back. He got his two oxen and killed them. He burned the plow to cook the meat. He gave it to the people, and they ate it. Then he started to follow Elijah. He became Elijah’s servant.

Araunah said to David,“ Take anything you wish. Offer it up. Here are oxen for the burnt offering. Here are threshing sleds. And here are wooden collars from the necks of the oxen. Use all the wood to burn the offering.

There was a group of prophets at Bethel. They came out to where Elisha was. They asked him,“ Do you know what the Lord is going to do? He’s going to take your master away from you today.”“ Yes, I know,” Elisha replied.“ So be quiet.”

I’m being held in chains because of the good news. So I would have liked to keep Onesimus with me. And he could take your place in helping me.

They arrived at Salamis. There they preached God’s word in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper.

So the Lord said to Moses,“ Joshua, the son of Nun, has the ability to be a wise leader. Get him and place your hand on him.Have him stand in front of Eleazar the priest and the whole community. Put him in charge while everyone is watching.Give him some of your authority. Then the whole community of Israel will obey him.

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Can’t we ask the Lord for advice through him?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha is here. He’s the son of Shaphat. Elisha used to serve Elijah.”
