So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say,“ May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.”

So Jezebel sent a message to Elijah. She said,“ You can be sure that I will kill you, just as I killed the other prophets. I’ll do it by this time tomorrow. If I don’t, may the gods punish me greatly.”

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“ So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.”

So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah:“ May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”

便‧哈达又派人到亚哈那里，说：“撒玛利亚的尘土若足够跟从我的军兵每人手拿一把，愿神明重重惩罚我！”

王说：“我今日若容许沙法的儿子以利沙的头还留在他身上，愿上帝重重惩罚我！”

你死在哪里，我也死在哪里，葬在哪里。只有死能使你我分离；不然，愿耶和华重重惩罚我！”

希律捉了彼得，押在监里，交给四班士兵看守，每班四个人，企图要在逾越节后把他提出来，当着百姓办他。于是彼得被囚在监里，教会却为他切切祷告上帝。希律将要提他出来的前一夜，彼得被两条铁链锁着，睡在两个士兵当中；门前还有警卫看守。

‘你辱骂谁，亵渎谁，扬起声来，高举眼目攻击谁呢？你攻击的是以色列的圣者。

注意！有人说：“今天或明天我们要往某城去，在那里住一年，做买卖赚钱。”其实明天如何，你们还不知道。你们的生命是什么呢？你们原来是一片云雾，出现片刻就不见了。

法老对摩西说：“离开我去吧！你要小心，不要再见我的面，因为再见我面的那日，你就必死！”

现在，你们若准备好，一听见角、号、琴、瑟、三角琴、鼓和各样乐器的声音，就俯伏拜我所造的像；若不下拜，必立刻扔在烈火的窑中，有哪一个神明能救你们脱离我的手呢？”

‘你坐下，你出去，你进来，你向我发烈怒，我都知道。因你向我发烈怒，你的狂傲上达我耳中，我要用钩子钩住你的鼻子，将嚼环放在你口里，使你从原路转回去。’

“你们要对犹大王希西家如此说：‘不要听你所倚靠的上帝欺哄你说：耶路撒冷必不交在亚述王的手中。看哪，你总听说亚述诸王向列国所行的是尽行灭绝，难道你能幸免吗？我祖先所毁灭的，就是歌散、哈兰、利色和提‧拉撒的伊甸人；这些国的神明何曾拯救他们呢？

仇敌说：‘我要追赶，我要追上，我要分掳物，在他们身上满足我的心愿，我要拔刀，亲手毁灭他们。’

不要为明天自夸，因为你不知道每天会发生何事。

虽然约押没有拥护押沙龙，却拥护了亚多尼雅；这消息传到约押那里，他就逃到耶和华的帐幕，抓住祭坛的翘角。
