So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say,“ May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.”

So Jezebel sent a message to Elijah. She said,“ You can be sure that I will kill you, just as I killed the other prophets. I’ll do it by this time tomorrow. If I don’t, may the gods punish me greatly.”

So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah:“ May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”

希律拿了彼得，收在监里，交付四班兵丁看守，每班四个人，意思要在逾越节后把他提出来，当着百姓办他。于是彼得被囚在监里；教会却为他切切地祷告神。希律将要提他出来的前一夜，彼得被两条铁链锁着，睡在两个兵丁当中；看守的人也在门外看守。

你辱骂谁？亵渎谁？扬起声来，高举眼目攻击谁呢？乃是攻击以色列的圣者！

嗐！你们有话说：“今天明天我们要往某城里去，在那里住一年，做买卖得利。”其实明天如何，你们还不知道。你们的生命是什么呢？你们原来是一片云雾，出现少时就不见了。

法老对摩西说：“你离开我去吧，你要小心，不要再见我的面！因为你见我面的那日你就必死！”

你们再听见角、笛、琵琶、琴、瑟、笙，和各样乐器的声音，若俯伏敬拜我所造的像，却还可以；若不敬拜，必立时扔在烈火的窑中，有何神能救你们脱离我手呢？”

你坐下，你出去，你进来，你向我发烈怒，我都知道。因你向我发烈怒，又因你狂傲的话达到我耳中，我就要用钩子钩上你的鼻子，把嚼环放在你口里，使你从你来的路转回去。’

“你们对犹大王希西家如此说：‘不要听你所倚靠的神欺哄你，说耶路撒冷必不交在亚述王的手中。你总听说亚述诸王向列国所行的，乃是尽行灭绝，难道你还能得救吗？我列祖所毁灭的，就是歌散、哈兰、利色，和属提拉撒的伊甸人，这些国的神何曾拯救这些国呢？

仇敌说：‘我要追赶，我要追上，我要分掳物，我要在他们身上称我的心愿。我要拔出刀来，亲手杀灭他们。’

不要为明日自夸，因为一日要生何事，你尚且不能知道。

约押虽然没有归从押沙龙，却归从了亚多尼雅。他听见这风声，就逃到耶和华的帐幕，抓住祭坛的角。
