Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.

And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only[ ye heard] a voice.

And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush[ was] not consumed.

For our God[ is] a consuming fire.

And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that[ was] in the trench.

And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I[ be] a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.Now when they heard[ this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men[ and] brethren, what shall we do?

And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold,[ there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
