那灵停住，我却不能辨其形状；有影像在我眼前。我在静默中听见有声音说：

他对我说：“这是耶和华指示所罗巴伯的。万军之耶和华说：不是倚靠势力，不是倚靠才能，乃是倚靠我的灵方能成事。

我不用威严惊吓你，也不用势力重压你。

那时你们近前来，站在山下；山上有火焰冲天，并有昏黑、密云、幽暗。耶和华从火焰中对你们说话，你们只听见声音，却没有看见形像。

耶和华在他面前宣告说：“耶和华，耶和华，是有怜悯有恩典的神，不轻易发怒，并有丰盛的慈爱和诚实，

耶和华的使者从荆棘里火焰中向摩西显现。摩西观看，不料，荆棘被火烧着，却没有烧毁。

因为我们的神乃是烈火。

日落天黑，不料有冒烟的炉并烧着的火把从那些肉块中经过。

忽然，从天上有响声下来，好像一阵大风吹过，充满了他们所坐的屋子，

于是，耶和华降下火来，烧尽燔祭、木柴、石头、尘土，又烧干沟里的水。

以利亚回答说：“我若是神人，愿火从天上降下来，烧灭你和你那五十人！”于是有火从天上降下来，烧灭五十夫长和他那五十人。

“故此，以色列全家当确实地知道，你们钉在十字架上的这位耶稣，神已经立他为主，为基督了。”众人听见这话，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其余的使徒说：“弟兄们，我们当怎样行？”

他们正走着说话，忽有火车火马将二人隔开，以利亚就乘旋风升天去了。
