那靈站住，我辨不出他的形狀，只見有一形象在我眼前，然後我聽見低微的聲音，說：

有沒有一個民族聽見神在火中說話的聲音，像你聽見的一樣，還能活著呢？

他對我說：“這是耶和華對所羅巴伯所說的話：‘不是倚靠權勢，不是倚靠能力，而是倚靠我的靈。’這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

我的威嚴必不驚嚇你，我的壓力也不加重在你身上。

那時，你們走前來，站在山下；山上有火燒著，火燄沖天，又有黑暗、密雲和幽暗。耶和華從火中對你們說話；你們只聽見聲音，卻沒有看見形象；只有聲音，

耶和華在摩西面前經過，並且宣告說：“耶和華，耶和華，是有憐憫有恩典的神，不輕易發怒，並且有豐盛的慈愛和誠實，

耶和華的使者從荊棘叢裡的火燄中向摩西顯現。摩西觀看，看見荊棘被火燒著，卻沒有燒毀。

因為我們的神是烈火。

日落天黑的時候，忽然有冒煙的爐和燒著的火把，從那些肉塊中經過。

忽然有一陣好像強風吹過的響聲，從天而來，充滿了他們坐在裡面的整間屋子。

於是有耶和華的火降下來，吞滅了燔祭、木柴、石頭和塵土，連溝裡的水也燒乾了。

以利亞回答五十夫長說：“如果我是神人，願火從天降下，把你和你的五十名手下吞滅。”於是有火從天降下，吞滅了五十夫長和他的五十名手下。

因此，以色列全家應當確實知道，你們釘在十字架上的這位耶穌，神已經立他為主為基督了。”他們聽了以後，覺得扎心，就對彼得和其餘的使徒說：“弟兄們，我們應當作甚麼呢？”

他們邊走邊談的時候，忽然，有火車火馬把他們二人分開，以利亞就在旋風中被接往天上去了。
