那灵停住，我无法辨认其模样。眼前出现一个形状，寂静中听见有声音说，

有哪个民族像你们一样，听见了上帝在火中说话，还活了下来？

他对我说：“这是耶和华对所罗巴伯讲的话。万军之耶和华说，‘不靠权势，不靠才能，乃靠我的灵。

所以你不用惧怕我，我不会对你施加压力。

你们来到山脚下，站在那里，山上烈焰冲天、乌云密布、极其幽暗。耶和华在火焰中对你们说话，你们只听见祂的声音，却看不见祂的形象。

耶和华在摩西面前经过，并且宣告说：“我是耶和华，我是耶和华，是有怜悯和恩典的上帝，不轻易发怒，充满慈爱，无比信实，

忽然有耶和华的天使在荆棘里的火焰中向他显现。摩西看见荆棘虽然在燃烧，却没有被烧毁。

因为我们的上帝是烈火。

太阳下山后，大地黑暗，突然有冒烟的火炉和点着的火炬在肉块中经过。

忽然，天上发出一阵响声，好像狂风呼啸而过，充满了他们所在的房子，

于是，耶和华降火烧尽了祭物、木柴、石头、尘土，甚至沟里的水。

以利亚说：“我若是上帝的仆人，愿火从天降下烧死你和你的五十个部下。”火立刻从天降下，烧死了五十夫长和他的五十个部下。

“所以，全体以色列人啊！你们应当确实地知道，上帝已经立这位被你们钉在十字架上的耶稣为主，为基督了。”他们听了彼得的话，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其他使徒说：“弟兄们，我们该怎么办呢？”

他们边走边谈，忽然有火马拉的火车把他们二人隔开，以利亚乘着旋风升上了天。
