現在你要派人去召集以色列眾人，以及耶洗別所供養的四百五十個巴力的先知和四百個亞舍拉的先知，叫他們都上迦密山到我這裏來。」亞哈就派人到以色列眾人那裏，召集先知上迦密山。

希西家就轉臉朝牆，向耶和華禱告，

疏散了眾人以後，他獨自上山去禱告。到了晚上，只有他一人在那裏。

上有撒拉弗侍立，各有六個翅膀：兩個翅膀遮臉，兩個翅膀遮腳，兩個翅膀飛翔，

在聖者的會中，他是大有威嚴的神，比在他四圍所有的更可畏懼。

在那些日子，耶穌出去，上山祈禱，整夜向神禱告。

所以，你們要彼此認罪，互相代求，使你們得醫治。義人祈禱所發的力量是大有功效的。以利亞與我們是同樣性情的人，他懇切地祈求不要下雨，地上就三年六個月沒有下雨。他又禱告，天就降下雨來，地就有了出產。

說：「我的神啊，我抱愧蒙羞，不敢向你－我的神仰面，因為我們的罪孽多到滅頂，我們的罪惡滔天。

大衛為這孩子懇求神。大衛刻苦禁食，到裏面去，躺在地上過夜。

亞伯拉罕的僕人聽見他們這些話，就向耶和華俯伏在地。

他就稍往前走，俯伏在地，禱告說，如果可能，就叫那時候離開他。
