Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying,“ Your name shall be Israel.”

This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ Divide the land in this way for the twelve tribes of Israel: The descendants of Joseph will be given two shares of land.

I will make them one piece of wood in my hand.’“ Then hold out the pieces of wood you have inscribed, so the people can see them.And give them this message from the Sovereign Lord: I will gather the people of Israel from among the nations. I will bring them home to their own land from the places where they have been scattered.I will unify them into one nation on the mountains of Israel. One king will rule them all; no longer will they be divided into two nations or into two kingdoms.

And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God— 144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel:from Judah 12,000 from Reuben 12,000 from Gad 12,000from Asher 12,000 from Naphtali 12,000 from Manasseh 12,000from Simeon 12,000 from Levi 12,000 from Issachar 12,000from Zebulun 12,000 from Joseph 12,000 from Benjamin 12,000

Then Moses carefully wrote down all the Lord’s instructions. Early the next morning Moses got up and built an altar at the foot of the mountain. He also set up twelve pillars, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.

During the dedication ceremony for the Temple of God, 100 young bulls, 200 rams, and 400 male lambs were sacrificed. And 12 male goats were presented as a sin offering for the twelve tribes of Israel.

And there he built an altar and named it El Elohe Israel.

The city wall was broad and high, with twelve gates guarded by twelve angels. And the names of the twelve tribes of Israel were written on the gates.
