Elijah got 12 stones. There was one for each tribe in the family line of Jacob. The Lord’ s message had come to Jacob. It had said,“ Your name will be Israel.”

He took twelve stones, one to represent each of the tribes of Israel,

And Joshua set up at Gilgal the twelve stones they had taken out of the Jordan.

I will make them into a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.’Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written onand say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.

Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben 12,000, from the tribe of Gad 12,000,from the tribe of Asher 12,000, from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000, from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,from the tribe of Simeon 12,000, from the tribe of Levi 12,000, from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000, from the tribe of Joseph 12,000, from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.

Moses then wrote down everything the Lord had said. He got up early the next morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up twelve stone pillars representing the twelve tribes of Israel.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;one Lord, one faith, one baptism;one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.
