Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying,“ Your name shall be Israel.”

Elijah got 12 stones. There was one for each tribe in the family line of Jacob. The Lord’ s message had come to Jacob. It had said,“ Your name will be Israel.”

Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord came, saying,“ Israel shall be your name,”

He took twelve stones, one to represent each of the tribes of Israel,

约书亚把他们从约旦河取来的那十二块石头，竖立在吉甲。

吩咐他们说：‘你们要从这里，就是约旦河中间，祭司的脚所站的地方，取十二块石头，把它们带过来，放在你们今夜要住宿的地方。’”于是，约书亚把他从以色列人中挑选的十二个人，每支派一人，都召了来。

主耶和华这样说：“你们按着以色列十二支派分地为业，要照着这些地界：约瑟要得双份。

“人子啊！你要拿一根木杖，在上面写‘犹大和那些与他一起的以色列人’；又拿另一根木杖，在上面写‘以法莲的木杖，就是约瑟和与他一起的以色列全家’。你要把这两根木杖连接在一起，使它们在你手里成为一根。如果你本国的人民问你：‘你不告诉我们这些木杖是什么意思吗？’你就要回答他们：‘主耶和华这样说：看哪！我要拿约瑟和与他一起的以色列众支派的木杖，就是在以法莲手里的，跟犹大的木杖连接在一起，使它们在我手里成为一根。’你写上了字的那两根木杖，要在他们眼前握在手里；你要对他们说：‘主耶和华这样说：看哪！我要把以色列人从他们所到的列国中领出来，又从四围聚集他们，把他们领回故土。我要使他们在那地上，在以色列的众山上，成为一国；必有一王统治他们众人；他们不再是两个国，不再分为两个邦。

我听见被盖印的人的数目，以色列子孙各支派中被盖印的共有十四万四千人：犹大支派中被盖印的，一万二千人；流本支派中，一万二千人；迦得支派中，一万二千人；亚设支派中，一万二千人；拿弗他利支派中，一万二千人；玛拿西支派中，一万二千人；西缅支派中，一万二千人；利未支派中，一万二千人；以萨迦支派中，一万二千人；西布伦支派中，一万二千人；约瑟支派中，一万二千人；便雅悯支派中，一万二千人。

摩西把耶和华的一切话都记下了；清早起来，在山下筑了一座祭坛，按着以色列十二支派立了十二根柱子。

并且建造在使徒和先知的根基上，基督耶稣自己就是奠基石，

在奉献这神殿的典礼中，他们献上公牛一百头、公绵羊二百只、绵羊羔四百只；又照着以色列支派的数目献上公山羊十二只，作全以色列的赎罪祭。

雅各家，就是被称为以色列的，从犹大的水源出来的，指着耶和华的名起誓，却不是出于诚实和公义，提说以色列的神的啊！你们要听这话。

“到那时，我必作以色列各家族的神，他们要作我的子民。”这是耶和华的宣告。

在那里雅各建了一座坛，给它起名叫伊利．伊罗伊．以色列。

身体只有一个，圣灵只有一位，就像你们蒙召只是藉着一个盼望。主只有一位，信仰只有一个，洗礼只有一种；神只有一位，就是万有的父。他超越万有，贯彻万有，并且在万有之中。

有高大的城墙，有十二个门，门口有十二位天使，门上写着以色列十二支派的名字。
