Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long are you going to be paralyzed by indecision? If the LORD is the true God, then follow him, but if Baal is, follow him!” But the people did not say a word.

以利亚走到众人面前说：“你们三心二意要到什么时候呢？如果耶和华是上帝，你们当跟从祂；如果巴力是上帝，你们就跟从他吧！”他们都默不作声。

以利亚走近众人说：“你们三心两意，要到几时呢？如果耶和华是神，你们就应当随从耶和华；如果巴力是神，你们就应当随从巴力。”众人一句话也不回答。

以利亞湊近眾民面前，說：『你們猶豫於兩可之間、要到幾時呢？如果永恆主是上帝，你們就應該隨從永恆主；如果巴力是上帝，你們就隨從巴力好啦。』眾民一句話也不回答。

以利亞前謂民眾曰、爾持兩端、躊躇莫決、將至何時、如以耶和華為上帝、則從之、如以巴力為上帝、則從彼、民不答一詞、

以利亞至民前曰、爾曹執持兩端、躊躇未決、將伊於何底乎。如以耶和華為上帝、則從耶和華、如以巴力為上帝、則從巴力。斯民無言以對。

以利亞至民眾前曰、爾曹心持二意、何時乃己、如以主為天主、則從主、如以巴力為天主、則從巴力、民不答一言、

Elijah went before the people and said,“ How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing.

Elijah went there and stood in front of the people. He said,“ How long will it take you to make up your minds? If the Lord is the one and only God, worship him. But if Baal is the one and only God, worship him.” The people didn’t say anything.

And Elijah came near to all the people and said,“ How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word.

Then Elijah stood in front of them and said,“ How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him. But if Baal, follow him.” But the people didn’t answer him a word.

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long are you going to struggle with the two choices? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him so much as a word.

And Elijah came to all the people, and said,“ How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.

And Elijah came near unto all the people, and said, How long go ye limping between the two sides? if Jehovah be God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If Yahweh is God, follow Him. But if Baal, follow him.” But the people didn’t answer him a word.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD[ be] God, follow him: but if Baal,[ then] follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Elijah came near to all the people, and said,“ How long will you waver between the two sides? If Yahweh is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” The people didn’t say a word.

“ No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

If you have no desire to worship the LORD, choose today whom you will worship, whether it be the gods whom your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But I and my family will worship the LORD!”

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot take part in the table of the Lord and the table of demons.Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we really stronger than he is?

Do not become partners with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness?And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever?And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said,“ I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

These nations are worshiping the LORD and at the same time serving their idols; their sons and grandsons do just as their fathers have done, to this very day.

Samuel said to all the people of Israel,“ If you are really turning to the LORD with all your hearts, remove from among you the foreign gods and the images of Ashtoreth. Give your hearts to the LORD and serve only him. Then he will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

‘ I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot!So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth!

I will remove those who worship the stars in the sky from their rooftops, those who swear allegiance to the LORD while taking oaths in the name of their‘ king,’

You have been taught that the LORD alone is God– there is no other besides him.

When all the people saw this, they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and said,“ The LORD is the true God! The LORD is the true God!”

Joshua said,“ Now put aside the foreign gods that are among you and submit to the LORD God of Israel.”The people said to Joshua,“ We will worship the LORD our God and obey him.”

Then Laban and Bethuel replied,“ This is the LORD’s doing. Our wishes are of no concern.

Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us and we belong to him; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Do you not know that if you present yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or obedience resulting in righteousness?But thanks be to God that though you were slaves to sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching you were entrusted to,and having been freed from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.( I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.) For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness.So what benefit did you then reap from those things that you are now ashamed of? For the end of those things is death.But now, freed from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.

When he prayed to the LORD, the LORD responded to him and answered favorably his cry for mercy. The LORD brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh realized that the LORD is the true God.

Judah replied,“ What can we say to my lord? What can we speak? How can we clear ourselves? God has exposed the sin of your servants! We are now my lord’s slaves, we and the one in whose possession the cup was found.”

Now, O LORD, you are the true God; you have made this good promise to your servant.

Now when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they assembled together.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God.

And he said to him,‘ Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ But he had nothing to say.

Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said,“ Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel,‘ Release my people so that they may hold a pilgrim feast to me in the desert.’”But Pharaoh said,“ Who is the LORD that I should obey him by releasing Israel? I do not know the LORD, and I will not release Israel!”

“ Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?”

“ Indeed, I am completely unworthy– how could I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth to silence myself.I have spoken once, but I cannot answer; twice, but I will say no more.”
