I,[ even] I,[ am] he that comforteth you: who[ art] thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man[ that] shall die, and of the son of man[ which] shall be made[ as] grass;

Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD[ is] at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.Is not the meat cut off before our eyes,[ yea], joy and gladness from the house of our God?The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.

Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits,[ and] found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook[ it], because there was no grass.And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because[ there was] no grass.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done[ this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest,[ and] be clear when thou judgest.

[ And] when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver[ you] your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

[ Let your] conversation[ be] without covetousness;[ and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.So that we may boldly say, The Lord[ is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

The LORD[ is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD[ is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

And thy heaven that[ is] over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee[ shall be] iron.The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
