But Elijah said,“ I swear by the Lord Almighty, in whose presence I stand, that I will present myself to Ahab this very day.”

Elijah said,“ As the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, I will surely present myself to Ahab today.”

Elijah said,“ I serve the Lord who rules over all. You can be sure that he lives. And you can be just as sure that I will speak to Ahab today.”

And Elijah said,“ As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.”

Then Elijah said,“ As the LORD of Armies lives, in whose presence I stand, today I will present myself to Ahab.”

Then Elijah said,“ As surely as the Lord of armies lives, before whom I stand, I will certainly present myself to him today.”

Then Elijah said,“ As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely present myself to him today.”

And Elijah said, As Jehovah of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself unto him to- day.

Then Elijah said,“ As the Lord of Hosts lives, before whom I stand, today I will present myself to Ahab.”

And Elijah said,[ As] the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.

But Elijah said,“ As certainly as the LORD WHO RULES OVER ALL lives( whom I serve), I will make an appearance before him today.”

Elijah said,“ As Yahweh of Armies lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.”

Now Elijah, who was from Tishbe in Gilead, told King Ahab,“ As surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives— the God I serve— there will be no dew or rain during the next few years until I give the word!”

For I swear by the Lord your God that the king has searched every nation and kingdom on earth from end to end to find you. And each time he was told,‘ Elijah isn’t here,’ King Ahab forced the king of that nation to swear to the truth of his claim.

And when you look up into the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars— all the forces of heaven— don’t be seduced into worshiping them. The Lord your God gave them to all the peoples of the earth.

“ Listen to me, you who know right from wrong, you who cherish my law in your hearts. Do not be afraid of people’s scorn, nor fear their insults.For the moth will devour them as it devours clothing. The worm will eat at them as it eats wool. But my righteousness will last forever. My salvation will continue from generation to generation.”

Then the angel said,“ I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!

Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all the armies of heaven!Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you twinkling stars!

Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle.Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies— he is the King of glory. Interlude

Instead, your assistant, Joshua son of Nun, will lead the people into the land. Encourage him, for he will lead Israel as they take possession of it.

They will spread out their bones on the ground before the sun, moon, and stars— the gods my people have loved, served, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered up again or buried but will be scattered on the ground like manure.

So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed.

Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will!

Who is able to count his heavenly army? Doesn’t his light shine on all the earth?

They were calling out to each other,“ Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!”

Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others— the armies of heaven— praising God and saying,“ Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding.God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind.
