But Elijah said,“ As certainly as the LORD WHO RULES OVER ALL lives( whom I serve), I will make an appearance before him today.”

Elijah said,“ As the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, I will surely present myself to Ahab today.”

Elijah said,“ I serve the Lord who rules over all. You can be sure that he lives. And you can be just as sure that I will speak to Ahab today.”

And Elijah said,“ As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.”

But Elijah said,“ I swear by the Lord Almighty, in whose presence I stand, that I will present myself to Ahab this very day.”

Then Elijah said,“ As the LORD of Armies lives, in whose presence I stand, today I will present myself to Ahab.”

Then Elijah said,“ As surely as the Lord of armies lives, before whom I stand, I will certainly present myself to him today.”

Then Elijah said,“ As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely present myself to him today.”

And Elijah said, As Jehovah of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself unto him to- day.

Then Elijah said,“ As the Lord of Hosts lives, before whom I stand, today I will present myself to Ahab.”

And Elijah said,[ As] the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.

Elijah said,“ As Yahweh of Armies lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.”

Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As certainly as the LORD God of Israel lives( whom I serve), there will be no dew or rain in the years ahead unless I give the command.”

As certainly as the LORD your God lives, my master has sent to every nation and kingdom in an effort to find you. When they say,‘ He’s not here,’ he makes them swear an oath that they could not find you.

When you look up to the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars– the whole heavenly creation– you must not be seduced to worship and serve them, for the LORD your God has assigned them to all the people of the world.

Listen to me, you who know what is right, you people who are aware of my law! Don’t be afraid of the insults of men; don’t be discouraged because of their abuse!For a moth will eat away at them like clothes; a clothes moth will devour them like wool. But the vindication I provide will be permanent; the deliverance I give will last.”

The angel answered him,“ I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.

Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all his heavenly assembly!Praise him, O sun and moon! Praise him, all you shiny stars!

Who is this majestic king? The LORD who is strong and mighty! The LORD who is mighty in battle!Look up, you gates! Rise up, you eternal doors! Then the majestic king will enter!Who is this majestic king? The LORD who commands armies! He is the majestic king!( Selah)

However, Joshua son of Nun, your assistant, will go. Encourage him, because he will enable Israel to inherit the land.

They will be spread out and exposed to the sun, the moon and the stars. These are things they adored and served, things to which they paid allegiance, from which they sought guidance, and worshiped. The bones of these people will never be regathered and reburied. They will be like manure used to fertilize the ground.

The heavens and the earth were completed with everything that was in them.

Praise the LORD, all you warriors of his, you servants of his who carry out his desires!

Can his armies be numbered? On whom does his light not rise?

They called out to one another,“ Holy, holy, holy is the Lord who commands armies! His majestic splendor fills the entire earth!”

Suddenly a vast, heavenly army appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,“ Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among people with whom he is pleased!”

For people swear by something greater than themselves, and the oath serves as a confirmation to end all dispute.In the same way God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable, and so he intervened with an oath,
