因着信，挪亚在那还看不见的事上得了神的指示，就动了敬畏的心，建造了一只方舟，以至于他的家人获救。藉着信，他定了世界的罪，自己也继承了从信而来的义。因着信，亚伯拉罕蒙召的时候，就顺从出发，往他将要得为继业的地方去。他出发的时候，还不知道往哪里去。

他快到一百岁的时候，想到自己的身体如同已经死了，又想到撒拉也已经不能生育，但是他的信仰却没有软弱。他也没有因着不信去怀疑神的应许，反而因着信得以刚强，把荣耀归给神，

于是耶稣回答她，说：“哦，妇人哪，你这信心是大的！照你所愿的，给你成全吧。”从那一刻起，她的女儿就痊愈了。

耶稣把他的门徒们召来，对他们说：“我确实地告诉你们：这穷寡妇所投入奉献箱的，比所有的人投的更多。

亚伯兰就照着耶和华吩咐他的去了，罗得也与他同去。亚伯兰从哈兰出来的时候年七十五岁。

因着信，亚伯拉罕在受考验的时候，献上了以撒；这位领受了各样应许的人，献上了自己的独生儿子——
