因著信，挪亞在還沒有看見的事上，得了神的警告，就動了敬畏的心，做了一艘方舟，使他全家得救。藉著這信心，他就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那因信而來的義。因著信，亞伯拉罕在蒙召的時候，就聽命往他將要承受為業的地方去；他出去的時候，還不知道要往哪裡去。

挪亞就這樣作了；神吩咐他的，他都照樣作了。

亞伯拉罕清早起來，預備好了驢，帶著兩個童僕和自己的兒子以撒，也劈好了獻燔祭用的柴，就起程到神指示他的地方去。

耶穌說：“我不是對你說過‘如果你信，就必定看見神的榮耀’嗎？”

他快到一百歲的時候，想到自己的身體好像已經死了，撒拉也不能生育，他的信心還是不軟弱，也沒有因著不信而疑惑神的應許，反倒堅信不移，把榮耀歸給神，

於是耶穌對她說：“婦人，你的信心真大，照你所想的給你成就吧！”從那時起，她的女兒就好了。

耶穌把門徒叫過來，對他們說：“我實在告訴你們，這窮寡婦投入庫裡的，比眾人投的更多。

亞伯蘭就照著耶和華吩咐他的去了；羅得也和他同去。亞伯蘭離開哈蘭的時候，已經七十五歲。

因著信，亞伯拉罕在受試驗的時候，就把以撒獻上；這就是那歡喜領受應許的人，獻上了自己的獨生子；
