她說：“我指著永活的耶和華你的神起誓，我沒有餅，缸裡只有一把麵粉，瓶裡只有一點油。你看我正在撿兩根柴，然後回去，為自己和兒子做餅，我們吃完了，就等死。”

她说：“我指着永生耶和华你的神起誓，我没有饼，坛内只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油；我现在找两根柴，回家要为我和我儿子做饼；我们吃了，死就死吧！”

她说：“我指着永生的耶和华—你的上帝起誓，我没有饼，坛内只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油。看哪，我去找两根柴，带回家为我和我儿子做饼。我们吃了，就等死吧！”

她说：“我指着永生的耶和华—你的神起誓，我没有饼，坛内只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油。看哪，我去找两根柴，带回家为我和我儿子做饼。我们吃了，就等死吧！”

她说：“我凭你的上帝——永活的耶和华起誓，我没有饼，我坛里只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油。我来捡柴就是要回去做饼，与儿子吃完后，就只能等死了。”

她说：“我指着永活的耶和华你的神起誓，我没有饼，缸里只有一把面粉，瓶里只有一点油。你看我正在捡两根柴，然后回去，为自己和儿子做饼，我们吃完了，就等死。”

她說：「我指着永生耶和華－你的神起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，瓶裏只有一點油；我現在找兩根柴，回家要為我和我兒子做餅；我們吃了，死就死吧！」

她說：「我指着永生的耶和華－你的上帝起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，瓶裏只有一點油。看哪，我去找兩根柴，帶回家為我和我兒子做餅。我們吃了，就等死吧！」

她說：「我指着永生的耶和華－你的神起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，瓶裏只有一點油。看哪，我去找兩根柴，帶回家為我和我兒子做餅。我們吃了，就等死吧！」

她說：「我憑你的上帝——永活的耶和華起誓，我沒有餅，我罈裡只有一把麵，瓶裡只有一點油。我來撿柴就是要回去做餅，與兒子吃完後，就只能等死了。」

她說：『我指着永恆主你的永活上帝來起誓：我沒有餅，只有罈內一把麵粉，罐裏一點兒油；你看，我正在撿撿兩根柴，去為自己和兒子作餅；喫了來死，算了。』

曰、我指爾之上帝、維生之耶和華以誓、我無餅、惟餘一握之麵於罌、少許之油於瓶、今採薪二、歸而為我及子備之、食之而死、

曰、我指爾之上帝耶和華以誓、我家無餅、所有者惟器中之粉一握、瓶中之油少許、我採薪才盈二束、欲歸而烹之、備我及子食之而死。

曰、我指永生主爾之天主而誓、我家無餅、所有者惟器中麵一握、瓶中油少許、今採薪少許、原文作採兩枝薪歸家作餅、我與我子食之而後死、

“ As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied,“ I don’t have any bread— only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it— and die.”

“ I don’t have any bread,” she replied.“ And that’s just as sure as the Lord your God is alive. All I have is a small amount of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I’m gathering a few sticks to take home. I’ll make one last meal for myself and my son. We’ll eat it. After that, we’ll die.”

And she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.”

But she said,“ I swear by the Lord your God that I don’t have a single piece of bread in the house. And I have only a handful of flour left in the jar and a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jug. I was just gathering a few sticks to cook this last meal, and then my son and I will die.”

But she said,“ As the LORD your God lives, I don’t have anything baked— only a handful of flour in the jar and a bit of oil in the jug. Just now, I am gathering a couple of sticks in order to go prepare it for myself and my son so we can eat it and die.”

But she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I have no food, only a handful of flour in the bowl and a little oil in the jar; and behold, I am gathering a few sticks so that I may go in and prepare it for me and my son, so that we may eat it and die.”

So she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

And she said, As Jehovah thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in the jar, and a little oil in the cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

But she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I don’t have anything baked— only a handful of flour in the jar and a bit of oil in the jug. Just now, I am gathering a couple of sticks in order to go prepare it for myself and my son so we can eat it and die.”

And she said,[ As] the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I[ am] gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

She said,“ As certainly as the LORD your God lives, I have no food, except for a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. Right now I am gathering a couple of sticks for a fire. Then I’m going home to make one final meal for my son and myself. After we have eaten that, we will die of starvation.”

She said,“ As Yahweh your God lives, I don’t have a cake, but a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

提斯比人以利亞，就是從基列的提斯比來的（按照《馬索拉文本》，“從基列的提斯比來的”作“基列的寄居者”;現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）先知，對亞哈說：“我指著我所事奉永活的耶和華以色列的神起誓，這幾年若是沒有我的命令，天必不降露，也不下雨。”

然後自己走開，在離開約有一箭之遠的地方，相對而坐，說：“我不忍眼看孩子死去。”就相對坐著，放聲大哭。

以利沙對他說：“我可以為你作甚麼呢？告訴我，你家裡有甚麼呢？”她說：“婢女家中除了一瓶油以外，甚麼也沒有。”以利沙說：“你到外面去向你所有的鄰居借空器皿，要盡量多借。然後回去，把你和你兒子關在家裡，你要把油倒在所有器皿裡面，裝滿了的就放在一邊。”於是婦人離開了他，把自己和兒子關在門內；她的兒子不住地把器皿拿到她面前，她就把油倒進去。器皿都倒滿了的時候，她對兒子說：“再拿一個器皿給我。”他對她說：“再沒有器皿了。”油就止住了。她去告訴神人，神人說：“你去把油賣掉，還清你的債務，你和你的兒子可以靠著剩下的過活。”

城裡的人雖然指著永活的耶和華起誓，其實，他們起的誓是假的。”

我主啊，現在我指著永活的耶和華，又在你面前起誓，耶和華既然阻止了你流人的血，又阻止了你親手報仇，願你的仇敵和那些謀害我主的人，都像拿八一樣。

如果你憑真理、公正、公義，指著永活的耶和華起誓；列國就必因耶和華蒙福，也必以他為榮。”

如果我出到田間，就看見那些被刀劍所殺的人；如果我走進城裡，就看見因饑荒而來的各種疾病。連先知和祭司也流亡到他們素不認識的地方。’”

以太回答王說：“我指著永活的耶和華，在我主我王面前起誓，無論我主我王在甚麼地方，或生或死，你僕人也必在那裡。”

大衛再起誓說：“你父親一定知道我在你眼中蒙恩，就心裡想：‘不要讓約拿單知道這事，免得他傷心。’可是，我指著永活的耶和華，又指著你的性命起誓，我離死只差一步。”

大衛又說：“我指著永活的耶和華起誓，他或被耶和華擊打，或死期到了，或下到戰場陣亡了，

我指著拯救以色列、永活的耶和華起誓，即使是我的兒子約拿單犯了罪，他也一定要死。”眾人中沒有一人回答他。

哀哉那日！因為耶和華的日子臨近了；那日來到，好像毀滅從全能者臨到一樣。糧食不是在我們的眼前斷絕了嗎？歡喜與快樂不是從我們的神的殿中止息了嗎？

然後，我要派一個僕人去，說：‘你去把箭找回來。’如果我對那僕人說：‘看哪！箭在你的後面，把箭拿回來。’你就可以回來，因為我指著永活的耶和華起誓，你必平安無事。

門徒對他說：“我們在這曠野地方，哪裡有足夠的食物給這許多的人吃飽呢？”耶穌問他們：“你們有多少餅？”他們說：“七個餅和幾條小魚。”

那些死於刀下的比餓死的還好；餓死的因缺乏田間的出產，就日漸消瘦而死亡。

“人子啊！你要戰戰兢兢地吃你的飯，滿心憂慮地喝你的水。你要對這地的人民說：‘論到耶路撒冷的居民和以色列地，主耶和華這樣說：他們要滿心憂慮地吃他們的飯，十分驚惶地喝他們的水；因為所有居民的強暴，這地必全然荒涼。

眾民對掃羅說：“約拿單在以色列人中行了這樣大的拯救，難道一定要他死嗎？絕對不可以！我們指著永活的耶和華起誓，連他一根頭髮也不可落在地上，因為他今天是與神一同作工。”這樣，眾民救了約拿單，使他免了一死。
