她说：“我指着永生耶和华你的神起誓，我没有饼，坛内只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油；我现在找两根柴，回家要为我和我儿子做饼；我们吃了，死就死吧！”

她说：“我指着永生的耶和华—你的上帝起誓，我没有饼，坛内只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油。看哪，我去找两根柴，带回家为我和我儿子做饼。我们吃了，就等死吧！”

她说：“我指着永生的耶和华—你的神起誓，我没有饼，坛内只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油。看哪，我去找两根柴，带回家为我和我儿子做饼。我们吃了，就等死吧！”

她说：“我凭你的上帝——永活的耶和华起誓，我没有饼，我坛里只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油。我来捡柴就是要回去做饼，与儿子吃完后，就只能等死了。”

她說：「我指着永生耶和華－你的神起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，瓶裏只有一點油；我現在找兩根柴，回家要為我和我兒子做餅；我們吃了，死就死吧！」

“ As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied,“ I don’t have any bread— only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it— and die.”

“ I don’t have any bread,” she replied.“ And that’s just as sure as the Lord your God is alive. All I have is a small amount of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I’m gathering a few sticks to take home. I’ll make one last meal for myself and my son. We’ll eat it. After that, we’ll die.”

And she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.”

But she said,“ I swear by the Lord your God that I don’t have a single piece of bread in the house. And I have only a handful of flour left in the jar and a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jug. I was just gathering a few sticks to cook this last meal, and then my son and I will die.”

But she said,“ As the LORD your God lives, I don’t have anything baked— only a handful of flour in the jar and a bit of oil in the jug. Just now, I am gathering a couple of sticks in order to go prepare it for myself and my son so we can eat it and die.”

But she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I have no food, only a handful of flour in the bowl and a little oil in the jar; and behold, I am gathering a few sticks so that I may go in and prepare it for me and my son, so that we may eat it and die.”

So she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

And she said, As Jehovah thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in the jar, and a little oil in the cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

But she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I don’t have anything baked— only a handful of flour in the jar and a bit of oil in the jug. Just now, I am gathering a couple of sticks in order to go prepare it for myself and my son so we can eat it and die.”

And she said,[ As] the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I[ am] gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

She said,“ As certainly as the LORD your God lives, I have no food, except for a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. Right now I am gathering a couple of sticks for a fire. Then I’m going home to make one final meal for my son and myself. After we have eaten that, we will die of starvation.”

She said,“ As Yahweh your God lives, I don’t have a cake, but a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

提斯比人以利亚，就是从基列的提斯比来的（按照《马索拉文本》，“从基列的提斯比来的”作“基列的寄居者”;现参照《七十士译本》翻译）先知，对亚哈说：“我指着我所事奉永活的耶和华以色列的神起誓，这几年若是没有我的命令，天必不降露，也不下雨。”

然后自己走开，在离开约有一箭之远的地方，相对而坐，说：“我不忍眼看孩子死去。”就相对坐着，放声大哭。

以利沙对他说：“我可以为你作什么呢？告诉我，你家里有什么呢？”她说：“婢女家中除了一瓶油以外，什么也没有。”以利沙说：“你到外面去向你所有的邻居借空器皿，要尽量多借。然后回去，把你和你儿子关在家里，你要把油倒在所有器皿里面，装满了的就放在一边。”于是妇人离开了他，把自己和儿子关在门内；她的儿子不住地把器皿拿到她面前，她就把油倒进去。器皿都倒满了的时候，她对儿子说：“再拿一个器皿给我。”他对她说：“再没有器皿了。”油就止住了。她去告诉神人，神人说：“你去把油卖掉，还清你的债务，你和你的儿子可以靠着剩下的过活。”

城里的人虽然指着永活的耶和华起誓，其实，他们起的誓是假的。”

我主啊，现在我指着永活的耶和华，又在你面前起誓，耶和华既然阻止了你流人的血，又阻止了你亲手报仇，愿你的仇敌和那些谋害我主的人，都像拿八一样。

如果你凭真理、公正、公义，指着永活的耶和华起誓；列国就必因耶和华蒙福，也必以他为荣。”

如果我出到田间，就看见那些被刀剑所杀的人；如果我走进城里，就看见因饥荒而来的各种疾病。连先知和祭司也流亡到他们素不认识的地方。’”

以太回答王说：“我指着永活的耶和华，在我主我王面前起誓，无论我主我王在什么地方，或生或死，你仆人也必在那里。”

大卫再起誓说：“你父亲一定知道我在你眼中蒙恩，就心里想：‘不要让约拿单知道这事，免得他伤心。’可是，我指着永活的耶和华，又指着你的性命起誓，我离死只差一步。”

大卫又说：“我指着永活的耶和华起誓，他或被耶和华击打，或死期到了，或下到战场阵亡了，

我指着拯救以色列、永活的耶和华起誓，即使是我的儿子约拿单犯了罪，他也一定要死。”众人中没有一人回答他。

哀哉那日！因为耶和华的日子临近了；那日来到，好像毁灭从全能者临到一样。粮食不是在我们的眼前断绝了吗？欢喜与快乐不是从我们的神的殿中止息了吗？

然后，我要派一个仆人去，说：‘你去把箭找回来。’如果我对那仆人说：‘看哪！箭在你的后面，把箭拿回来。’你就可以回来，因为我指着永活的耶和华起誓，你必平安无事。

门徒对他说：“我们在这旷野地方，哪里有足够的食物给这许多的人吃饱呢？”耶稣问他们：“你们有多少饼？”他们说：“七个饼和几条小鱼。”

那些死于刀下的比饿死的还好；饿死的因缺乏田间的出产，就日渐消瘦而死亡。

“人子啊！你要战战兢兢地吃你的饭，满心忧虑地喝你的水。你要对这地的人民说：‘论到耶路撒冷的居民和以色列地，主耶和华这样说：他们要满心忧虑地吃他们的饭，十分惊惶地喝他们的水；因为所有居民的强暴，这地必全然荒凉。

众民对扫罗说：“约拿单在以色列人中行了这样大的拯救，难道一定要他死吗？绝对不可以！我们指着永活的耶和华起誓，连他一根头发也不可落在地上，因为他今天是与神一同作工。”这样，众民救了约拿单，使他免了一死。
