屬基拉居民之提斯比人以利亞、謂亞哈曰、我事主以色列之天主、我指其永生而誓、今而後數年間、我若不言、不言或作不祈則必無露無雨、

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.”

Elijah was from Tishbe in the land of Gilead. He said to Ahab,“ I serve the Lord. He is the God of Israel. You can be sure that he lives. And you can be just as sure that there won’t be any dew or rain on the whole land. There won’t be any during the next few years. It won’t come until I say so.”

Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”

Now Elijah, who was from Tishbe in Gilead, told King Ahab,“ As surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives— the God I serve— there will be no dew or rain during the next few years until I give the word!”

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from the Gilead settlers, said to Ahab,“ As the LORD God of Israel lives, in whose presence I stand, there will be no dew or rain during these years except by my command!”

Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As the Lord, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall certainly be neither dew nor rain during these years, except by my word.”

And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the sojourners of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As Jehovah, the God of Israel, liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from the Gilead settlers, said to Ahab,“ As the Lord God of Israel lives, I stand before Him, and there will be no dew or rain during these years except by my command!”

And Elijah the Tishbite,[ who was] of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab,[ As] the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As certainly as the LORD God of Israel lives( whom I serve), there will be no dew or rain in the years ahead unless I give the command.”

Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”

And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous— to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” (niv)

Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. (niv)

Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, if I did not have respect for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not pay any attention to you. (niv)

But Micaiah said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.” (niv)

At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister and to pronounce blessings in his name, as they still do today. (niv)

I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land.Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. (niv)

Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” (niv)

After a long time, in the third year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah:“ Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land.” (niv)

God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah— how he appealed to God against Israel: (niv)

The angel said to him,“ I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. (niv)

Jephthah then called together the men of Gilead and fought against Ephraim. The Gileadites struck them down because the Ephraimites had said,“ You Gileadites are renegades from Ephraim and Manasseh.” (niv)

They asked him,“ Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said,“ I am not.”“ Are you the Prophet?” He answered,“ No.” (niv)

The rest said,“ Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.” (niv)

Therefore this is what the Lord says:“ If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them. (niv)

As surely as the Lord your God lives, there is not a nation or kingdom where my master has not sent someone to look for you. And whenever a nation or kingdom claimed you were not there, he made them swear they could not find you. (niv)

Elijah said,“ As the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, I will surely present myself to Ahab today.” (niv)

And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. (niv)

questioned him,“ Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” (niv)

because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law. (niv)

Lift up your eyes and look around; all your children gather and come to you. As surely as I live,” declares the Lord,“ you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride. (niv)

Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me (niv)

As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him,“ Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters— one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”( He did not know what he was saying.) (niv)

The prophet answered,“ As surely as the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will not accept a thing.” And even though Naaman urged him, he refused. (niv)

When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked,“ Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?” (niv)

Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. (niv)

They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want. (niv)

They replied,“ Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” (niv)

When some of those standing there heard this, they said,“ He’s calling Elijah.” (niv)
