Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu son of Hanani concerning Baasha:

The Lord’ s message about Baasha came to Jehu, the son of Hanani. Here is what the Lord said about Baasha.

And the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

This message from the Lord was delivered to King Baasha by the prophet Jehu son of Hanani:

Jehu son of Hanani received from the LORD this message predicting Baasha’s downfall:

Yahweh’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore[ is] wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they[ are] written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who[ is] mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.

And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.

And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of[ them] whose heart[ is] perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for[ he was] in a rage with him because of this[ thing]. And Asa oppressed[ some] of the people the same time.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
