For David had done what was right in the eyes of the Lord and had not failed to keep any of the Lord’s commands all the days of his life— except in the case of Uriah the Hittite.

David had done what was right in the sight of the Lord. He had kept all the Lord’ s commands. He had obeyed them all the days of his life. But he hadn’t obeyed the Lord in the case of Uriah, the Hittite.

大卫在信上吩咐约押：“你把乌利亚派到前线最险恶的地方，到时其他人都要撤退，好让敌人杀死他。”于是约押围攻城池时，便派乌利亚到最强悍的敌人那里。敌人出来迎战，大卫的军中有几位阵亡，赫人乌利亚也死了。

如果你像你父亲大卫一样存诚实正直的心事奉我，遵行我的一切吩咐，谨守我的律例和典章，

夫妻二人遵行主的一切诫命和条例，无可指责，在上帝眼中是义人。

你为什么蔑视我的命令，做出我视为可憎的事呢？你借亚扪人的刀杀了赫人乌利亚，把他的妻子据为己有。因为你藐视我，把赫人乌利亚的妻子据为己有，从今以后，杀戮流血的事必永不离开你的家。’

大卫就派人去打听这个女人是谁，得知她是以连的女儿、赫人乌利亚的妻子拔示芭。大卫差人把她接来，她来了，大卫就与她同寝，那时她的月经刚洁净。事后，她便回家去了。

“大卫在世时遵行上帝的旨意，最后死了，葬在他祖先那里，肉身也朽坏了。

约西亚做耶和华视为正的事，事事效法他祖先大卫，不偏不离。

上帝啊，求你怜悯我，因为你的慈爱永不改变；求你除去我的过犯，因为你有无限的怜悯。

我重视你的一切命令，便不致羞愧。

亚比央和他父亲一样作恶多端，没有像他祖先大卫一样忠于他的上帝耶和华。

他做耶和华视为正的事，效法他祖先大卫，不偏不离。

之后，上帝废掉扫罗，选立大卫做王，并为他作证说，‘我找到了耶西的儿子大卫，他是合我心意的人，他必遵行我一切的旨意。’
