But for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem,

然以大衛之故、其上帝耶和華賜以燈光、在於耶路撒冷、俾其子嗣位、鞏固耶路撒冷、

緣大闢之故、上帝耶和華、使彼在耶路撒冷歷世有光、立其子繼國位、則耶路撒冷之邑、歷久不廢。

雖然、緣大衛之故、主其天主賜之以光以光或作明燈在耶路撒冷、或作緣大衛之故主其天主使彼在耶路撒冷歷世有光立其子繼之登位、使耶路撒冷存留不廢、

Nevertheless, for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong.

But the Lord still kept the lamp of Abijah’s kingdom burning brightly in Jerusalem. He did it by giving him a son to be the next king after him. He also did it by making Jerusalem strong. The Lord did those things because of David.

Nevertheless, for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, setting up his son after him, and establishing Jerusalem,

But for David’s sake, the Lord his God allowed his descendants to continue ruling, shining like a lamp, and he gave Abijam a son to rule after him in Jerusalem.

But for the sake of David, the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up his son after him and by preserving Jerusalem.

Nevertheless for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, by setting up his son after him and by establishing Jerusalem;

Nevertheless for David’s sake did Jehovah his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem;

But because of David, the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem to raise up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem.

Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

Nevertheless for David’s sake the LORD his God maintained his dynasty in Jerusalem by giving him a son to succeed him and by protecting Jerusalem.

Nevertheless for David’s sake, Yahweh his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem;

But to his son I will give one tribe, so that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name.

Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David because of the covenant which He had made with David, and because He had promised to give a lamp to him and his sons forever.

So it came about, when God destroyed the cities of the surrounding area, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the destruction, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.

And give Him no rest until He establishes And makes Jerusalem an object of praise on the earth.

‘ For I will protect this city to save it for My own sake, and for My servant David’s sake.’ ”

( but he shall have one tribe, for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel),

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

For You light my lamp; The Lord my God illumines my darkness.

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying,“ I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

What answer will one give the messengers of the nation? That the Lord has founded Zion, And the poor of His people will take refuge in it.”

Because He loved your fathers, He chose their descendants after them. And He personally brought you from Egypt by His great power,

And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David—Just as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient times—Salvation from our enemies, And from the hand of all who hate us;To show mercy to our fathers, And to remember His holy covenant,The oath which He swore to our father Abraham,To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, Would serve Him without fear,In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days.And you, child, also will be called the prophet of the Most High; For you will go on before the Lord to prepare His ways;To give His people the knowledge of salvation By the forgiveness of their sins,Because of the tender mercy of our God, With which the Sunrise from on high will visit us,To shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”

A light for revelation for the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ If you can break My covenant for the day and My covenant for the night, so that day and night do not occur at their proper time,then My covenant with David My servant may also be broken, so that he will not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers.As the heavenly lights cannot be counted, and the sand of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the descendants of My servant David and the Levites who serve Me.’ ”And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,“ Have you not observed what these people have asserted, saying,‘ The two families which the Lord chose, He has rejected them’? So they despise My people as no longer being a nation in their sight.This is what the Lord says:‘ If My covenant for day and night does not continue, and I have not established the fixed patterns of heaven and earth,then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so as not to take from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and have mercy on them.’ ”

But of Zion it will be said,“ This one and that one were born in her”; And the Most High Himself will establish her.

In relation to the gospel they are enemies on your account, but in relation to God’s choice they are beloved on account of the fathers;

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then David’s men swore to him, saying,“ You shall not go out again with us to battle, so that you do not extinguish the lamp of Israel.”

There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.

When your days are finished and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come from you, and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he does wrong, I will discipline him with a rod of men and with strokes of sons of mankind,but My favor shall not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from you.Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”

And it will come about in the last days That the mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, And the peoples will stream to it.Many nations will come and say,“ Come and let’s go up to the mountain of the Lord And to the house of the God of Jacob, So that He may teach us about His ways, And that we may walk in His paths.” For from Zion will go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

And I will make you into a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing;

However, I will not do it in your days, only for the sake of your father David; but I will tear it away from the hand of your son.

because Abraham obeyed Me and fulfilled his duty to Me, and kept My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”

I will make the horn of David spring forth there; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed.

“ This is what the Lord says, He who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to create it, He whose name is the Lord:

“ I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you of these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
